140K 98 CamryI4 , Both front calipers go bad??

Brakes felt a little faded and lacking performance. Had the infamous bump..bump..bump when coming to a stop with constant pedal pressure, so I knew I had runout. Took it in, front rotors a little warped and pads bad, normal. However, both front calipers "went bad." Shop says that after so many miles (140K now) calipers tend to go bad. his words: "the seals around the pistons go bad so that the piston can't go back easily, so the pads are always (which is probably an exxageration) rubbing, the rotor overheats and warps and pads wear out a whole lot faster"
Makes sense, but both calipers go out just like that? Anyone else have similar issue?
Are the following prices reasonable:
Ceramic pads $80, Installation $50
Calipers (2) $224, Install $50
Fluid flush $80
Rotor cut (2) $20
Total with shop charge and tax is $567.47
Most concerned about the price of Calipers, is that about normal?

I guess I can pay for it (with help from dad) if this is actually something that makes sense, if it actually does happen...so, does it?

I had one go out on my 95 Camry and followed some advice from my brother-in-law (Master mechanic) Went ahead and changed both out since I didn't want to have the other one dragging and warping the other rotor a few miles down the road. I bought reman ones that were actually original toyota parts for a whole lot cheaper. It is a very easy job to do yourself.
