1. Is your Check Engine Soon light on? If so, $20 to Pep Boys to have them read the error codes could be a big help.

2. I recently had 2 out of 6 brand new spark plugs go bad. One had some dents in it as if it was dropped. The second had the ceramic insulator come off when I pulled the spark plug wire cap off. If was very careful installing them, and took them out of the boxes new myself. Perhapt someone had bought them earlier, dropped them or such and returned. But spark plugs are cheap. I don't see bad plugs frequently, but there are a lot out there.

3. I personnally like to run the engine for a few minutes, but not letting the engine get too warm and then removing them and inspecting them. Sometimes the appearance can be very educational as to what the engine problem is.

4. I have read and heard a lot a BAD things about the Bosh platinum plugs in the Buick Century. If you just put these in your car, try some $2 plugs instead (properly gapped of course).
