Recently my differential has taken a shit and i want to replace it.
i want to know wat is better and what the prices look like. i need something that will last that is y i dont want to fix it instead i want a new one. The aim is for my bird to handle 400-500 rwhp in the future so i need something that can withstand that.
Also how much do they run for?
And were can i find some prices.

Thanks alot guys.

99 - 02 used Torsen. The earlier 4th gens were generally auburn. I am not sure in eaton was used in there during somewhere in that time period

hold on guys... auburn and torsens are already in our cars? I thought they were aftermarket ones that were better...
Now that i know this which one is better... can i put either one in my car?
Are they all posi?
Were do i get an eaton unit?
And i had always heard complaints here on AF about our differential so if i want something that can put it down and take a beating what would be best for me????
Thank you guys

What your reading and taking as us complaining on the differential is infact nothing to do with the differential other than the size ring gear that is used along with them. No matter how strong a differential you use (which is the torsen unit by the way, because it has no clutch packs to go and is basically set up like a detriot locker) the weak point which is not changing is the 7.625 ring gear. Which is basically a Go-kart sized gear. There is no way anyone not on smack could think that, that sized ring gear can hold for the long run with traction to 300 , 400 and so on horsepower.

ok one more question...for now...
If i want my car to support more power all i need to do is change the gears inside my transmission given that everything else is good?
If so what size gears do i need?
And what brand?
