There is a sensor on the left side of the motor right inbetween cyls 1 and 3 with I believe a green wire. That sensor is for the gauge
how can i get to it so i could put a new one in. i cant see how to do it can anyone help thanks

you might have to take the exhaust manifold off to get to it, is that what is in the way?

If your talking about the Temp sensor in the head you should be able to get to it with a open end wrench and a spark plug socket.

This is the gauge sending unit. The temp sensor is on the front of the motor/intake, and the fan switch is on the pass. side between 6 and 8.
But yes a open, preferrably a combo wrench is all you need (with a long shank). I went from the front to go behind the manifold, hence the need for a long shank. Simply use the closed end to break it free, then use the open to get it fully loosend.
And do not put any teflon tape or thread sealer on the new unit, the thread is tappered and is thus self sealing.
