How many cylinders did you first car have? My first car was a 1980 Volare and was a slant 6. It was a piece of shit and was never licensed or driven. I ended up selling it for $200 and a spare tire for my RS. I got the car free so I guess it was a pretty good investment. What was your first car?

Yep, I totaled my RS 4 months after I bought it. That car was way too much for a kid to own.

I'm going to have to agree, what use is a poll subforum with no polls? These polls are all different and useful in getting to know our AF community!

Well, I wasn't quite sure how to vote. The first car I bought was a 94 Z28, but the first vehicle I drove for 8 months was an old 86 F-150 with a 300CI straight-6, single barrel carb. My dad let me drive it since it was a third vehicle. I hated driving it, but now I don't mind because its my daily driver, to keep miles off the Z. So I voted 6.

8 cylinders- every car i've ever owned had a V8 in it ( not likely to change that unless they quit making them for what ever reason in the future and "force" me to buy something else)
My first car was an 85 Z28 bought it brand new every option available was on it

What the hell is a V5?

My first car was a 1978 Firechicken. I sold that to my cuz who wrecked it, Bitch... and then got a 1990 Ford Taurus SHO. I know its a ford but it had the Yamaha 220 hp V6. That was a fast car...

Don't they usually put odd number cylinders in a line? Never heard of a V-5. awww, one cylinder without a partner.

Then i got the 97 rs cavalier.. realised it was slow sold it then got a 88 supra turbo 5 speed fast as hell. Leta firend drive it came back toltoled out. Then i got my 92 camaro rs. that is where we stand.

1988 Mercury Tracer.. Car sounded like an R/C car in reverse.. it was too funny to drive.. I tried top speed and it was 79 downhill with the wind behind me.. I couldn't get it to go 80 for the life of me.. not enough hp.. but it got like 34 mpg.

I had no idea they had 5 cylinder engines. Whatever I will stick with my LS-1 V8. When I get done with nursing school I was to get v-12 or some crazy shit like that. Or just a Ferrari...like a F355 syder

is the wrong answer. there is such thing. my car has one, and that's some fairly solid proof. honda also ran V5s in their race bikes. so yes, they do exists.

care to explain what that is? looks to be a V5 with my eyesight, which was 20/20 last time it was checked.

wait, there's more:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V5_engine - mine's the 2.3-litre variant.

http://www.engineaction.com/photo.htm - look at the two top pictutres.

Yep, I knew there was a 5 cylinder, thats why I put it is an option. I didn't figure anyone's parents were stupid enough to give a 10 or 12 cylinder as a first car and if those were options everyone would try to be "funny" and pick those.

My first car was an '87 TA w/ the 305 V8, bought for $3000..I loved that car, but it was wrecked last august when some lady pulled out and hit me..then I drove around a ford focus for six months until I saved up enough to buy my '95 Trans Am with the 5.7L :grinyes:
