I have a 2003 tahoe with about 57k on it. Recently at high speeds I have felt a shuddering through the front end coming through the steering wheel. I put on a full set of new tires 2 or 3 months ago so this should not be the problem. Any suggestions as to what it could be? It doesn't seem to happen under 65mph. Unfortunately I live in New Jersey so going under that speed on the parkway isn't an option.

A weight could have fallen off one of the wheels causing an out of balance condition. The front tires should be rebalanced to rule them out.

I had the same problem with my 02 Yukon. There was a Service Bulletin issued on this advising that it was more noticable when turning at low speeds on rough road surfaces. The dealer replaced 1 section of the steering shaft and remedied the problem. This was about 2 years ago and it has been perfect ever since.
