any relation to this GM transmission?

Found a website that state that some GM Hydramatic transmissions in high performance vehicles can actually benefit from a slightly overfilled transmission fluid level.

Just wondering, as I dumped about an extra 1/4-1/2qt of transmission fluid out of my pan that my mechanic had overfilled it with. Maybe he know's something I don't?
