OBD2 connector pinout for an OBDI car

Does anyone know what the pinout is for the OBDI cars that have an OBD2 connector? I have a 95 formula and there is a sticker under my hood that lists it as being an OBDI car. I want to use the old paperclip method to read codes(I recently had an ABS light that dissappeared on restart) but I'm not sure which pins I need. Also I have an OBD2 code reader, are these systems backwards compatable? I would like to read codes with it but I'm afraid to plug it in knowing I don't have a OBD2 car.
Thanks,
Beene
PS. I have the perform button for my tranny, I thought this meant it was an OBD2 system??

Paperclip won't work on late model Hybrid OBD1 systems you need to have your car scanned either via your PC with a special datalogging cable or bring it to a shop to do it. Although a shop will typically charge around 90 bucks and the cables can be found on ebay for around 40 bucks. The performance button was never used with OBD2's, The OBD2 scanner will just get error messages and not be able to read your system.

Thanks for the speedy reply.
I had to make a cable for a previous car(pontiac fiero) so I could use winaldl. Any idea if this cable would work still on the newer car? I have already downloaded the program to scan the codes I just don't feel like making a new cable if I don't have to. The one I built was the one that got it's power from the computer. Looked similar to the newer cable schematic if I recall. Do I need the cigarette lighter powered one or should I be OK depending on the computer I use?

It will work. You just need to try terminal 5 for the ground and then terminal 9 for the serial data. It will transfer over a live data stream.

go to autozone... they read the codes for free...
