Please leave me information on either here or sounddomain on what u think of it and possibly what u think i should do. Thanks http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/2374942 -ENJOY- :grinyes: '97ventureowner 06-20-2006, 10:04 PM Not a bad looking car at all. Looks to be in good shape for the year. I noticed the info to the left of the screen says it's a 1990 Caprice. That also came up on my task bar for the page I was viewing instead of 1991. kahjdh 06-20-2006, 10:45 PM yea mine said 90 also. Nice car. What happened to the trim around the speedo cluster? Marsal420 06-21-2006, 02:28 AM Thank you for the comments. Actually the trim around the cluster was taken off by the previous owner and i have yet to put it back on. All i know of that is wrong with the car is it needs an alternator, break lines, front shocks and also a good TUNE UP =). Other then that it's a really nice car the interior is in great shape as is the body and it has minor rust around it and in the engine bay but for that year it is actually in good condition. And, i wont complain i got it for free and it's a great project car. I'll keep you guys updated and if u have any information to what i could possibly do to make the car run better even if it's a very small thing or any tips on care please let me know. Marsal420 06-21-2006, 02:29 AM Thank you for noticing that i didn't realize that i will change it asap. Mira_cz 06-21-2006, 07:46 AM little bit rusty but great looking Marsal420 06-21-2006, 08:22 PM Yeah, with alittle work it will look nice. All my plans for this project as of now is get it running right since it was sitting for over 3years and it started right up so that has to count for somthing right? I'll keep you peeps updated. Always i heard about a rumor of adding 2 turbos from a 4cyl engine and it should be giving u around 500hp+ my friends dad is currently doing it to his 57 chevy pickup with a 305 in it =). But i dont know if i would want to go to that extent mayb 1turbo and get around 150 - 250 hp ? that would be sweet figured id throw that info in maybe someone could use it? peace kdrolt 06-23-2006, 12:04 PM .... I'll keep you guys updated and if u have any information to what i could possibly do to make the car run better even if it's a very small thing or any tips on care please let me know. 1. Add the 9C1 Ypipe from the 92-93 9C1, and use an aftermarket muffler. Yes it will fit & bolt on. 2. Do some version of a CAI (cold air induction), per these: http://impalassforum.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=9;t=001945 3. Read this thread and note the maintenance & performance items listed (incl the 9C1 Ypipe): http://impalassforum.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=33;t=009021 HTH. Marsal420 06-23-2006, 01:49 PM Those links are alot of help to me, thank you.. I was thinking about doing some kind of (CAI) but i couldn't figure out how i would do it but now i think i have a good idea. I like the one with that big shroud so to speak in the middle of the engine pay with what i belive is a k&n filter. but only thing is where would i get that shroud? kdrolt 06-23-2006, 03:44 PM The original unit of that design (for use on the LT1 Bcars) was the SRI (stealth ram intake, if I recall right) and it was designed by Darryl Lum. Testing showed that a 2nd baffle in front of the top of the radiator would help prevent radiator air entering the main baffle (the one with the cone) --- that design became the SSRI, which is an improvement over the original. I don't think the SRI & SSRI were produced for very long, and it was only a matter of time before others made their own (DIY, using plastic or sheetmetal) and before another vendor made them under a different name (RAISS, which is an acronym for something). Anyway, you might find one used, or you might do a search on the other SS forums because I believe people have posted the measurements of the size and you could make your own.... or you can just buy a new RAISS unit. I don't know what the RAISS costs these days (over $300!) .... but the dual snorkle modification to the stock plastic airbox is a nice cheap factory-looking approach (especially if you mod the air silencer ring under the back half of the airbox), and the Caddy plastic hat + PVC sewerpipe + cone is also a good inexpensive choice. Or you can make-your-own if you are handy with sheetmetal. After all, the RAISS is a sheetmetal copy of the plastic SRI.
