1st car suggestionssnoopafellajv 08-03-2002, 11:26 PM What car do u suggest for a first car in the lower price range that can be modded easily, not a bad price, reliable, and can get good speeds, dragging and/or drifting YogsVR4 08-10-2002, 01:50 PM Lets see, you dont want to spend much money, but want the car to be good at just about everything. As soon as you find such a car, let the rest of us know. In the mean time, you should pick what you want the car to do first off and then you might get some good suggestions. Also, why would you want a car to "drift" - how often do you really think you're going to try that? jester4666 08-10-2002, 02:51 PM just get something you like. find several different cars that interest you and then do some research on each. that is the only way that you will end up with something that you really want.... Lead Injector 11-22-2002, 01:40 AM well you could get something like a crx or integra- cheap and fairly fast, unfortunately they aren't the most durable cars ever and you will look like the 54976354967475974394 other people with one. whatever you do dont buy a jap car made before 1990 because it WILL fall apart in your hands from rust. My first (and only so far) car is a 1990 Pontiac Lemans 1.6L sedan- quite nice, had it for about a year and nothing has gone wrong with it. the clutch is a bit high but once you learn it then you will be able to drive any car with ease. they look ok, cheap to run, and they go fairly fast- i was driving along behind an audi A4 and he tried to burn me off by charging up to 150 kmh and I didnt even have to change down. oh and if you want any more inspiration then take a look at what this dude done with his little pontiac- http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=215360&make_type_query=make%3DPontiac&model_brand_query=model%3DLemans&tree=Pontiac%20Lemans SilverLotus340R 11-22-2002, 07:14 PM get a toyota that is all i have to say..there is a huge aftermarket for them and they will run forever Jimster 11-30-2002, 12:22 AM Toyota, Mazda, Nissan or a Honda, both reliable, easy to tune cars crayzayjay 11-30-2002, 09:08 AM Originally posted by YogsVR4 Also, why would you want a car to "drift" - how often do you really think you're going to try that? He's just started driving! Of course he's gonna be doing a lot of drifting! ;) ... right after he figures out how to stop stalling :hehehe: La Temperanza 11-30-2002, 01:30 PM He's also gonna be doing a lot of tire shopping. javascript:smilie('') crayzayjay 12-01-2002, 06:29 AM not to mention a new sound system, tinted windows, big alloys, go-faster stripes :D La Temperanza 12-01-2002, 02:38 PM Well then, how 'bout he goes with that perennial favorite of ricers everywhere, the Honda Civic. :3 crayzayjay 12-02-2002, 02:09 PM no no, you forgot, he wants to "drift"... hehe.... you cant drift in a civic... understeer maybe, but then thats not much fun.... :D Stefanel1 12-22-2002, 05:46 PM Why not a Peugeot 405 (1988-1991) ? There are some left in the US. It's not easy to find but it's original. There are also some Alfa. I don't know if it's exepensive there but I think it's not because these makes don't sell any more in North America. crayzayjay 01-12-2003, 01:59 PM as far as i know most Americans havent heard of Peugeot or Renault Stefanel1 01-12-2003, 02:03 PM I guess that they are smart enough to know these big makes. Even if it's not sold in the US. We're European, and we know what is Dodge for example even if it's not sold here. crayzayjay 01-16-2003, 01:11 PM I guess Americans are a little more inward looking when it comes to cars. From my experience, ive seen that few like to learn about cars that arent sold in their own market ... thats why most havent heard of Peugeot or renault etc.... Jimster 01-22-2003, 02:31 AM damned postwhores :D LOL It is a shame Americans choose to ignore European cars- they REALLY don't know what they are missing Stefanel1 01-22-2003, 10:29 AM Maybe some day they'll become more openminded ! But today, they just ignore (not all of course and hopefully) other people, the Irak crisis is a perfect example (UN ? what is this thing asks W. Bush ?? ) crayzayjay 01-23-2003, 03:07 PM Ton anglais n'est pas mal du tout! :) Je vais m'inscrire... pas cette seconde car je suis en retard mais je vais m'inscrire pour sur...
