Stuck Fuel Gauge

Our '98 Windstar Limited just suddenly has a new problem... the fuel gauge is stuck past full and isn't moving...


any ideas?

It sounds like either a wire is broken/disconected, either the sender unit is bad or the gauge is bad.

Have you recientelly had other work done that could of caused any of the above?

No recent work other than my hooking up a 4plug to 6plug connector adapter to the factory installed wiring (at the rear of the van) and plugging in an electric brake control module to the (once again) factory installed plug under the dash (using a proper aftermarket connector).

I suspected the brake module and unplugged it at the module, then unplugged the underdash connector...

no luck...

I realize my next move is probably pull the dash gauge and try to determine with a multi-meter if the gauge is getting signal and/or if the gaue will respond correctly to signal...

anybody know how to do that?
