Apparently, My engine's gonna blow up

Injectors 1 and 3 aren't working, but the compression is good. The radiators fans were working one day, now they won't come on. The wiring is all F**** up. The worst part is, even though they tell me they're trying to help me with the price, they can't even figure out what's wrong. He said the brand new fan relay I put in there burnt out, and they replaced it with another new one, so I told him maybe that wire is sending too much power. Also because the fan's coming on one day and not the next, it must be electrical. About the engine, I am not happy, I paid them to replace the exhaust and the damned to hell thing smells the same as when I first bought it!!!! I'm not here to argue, I want to know if you guys have any ideas about cylinder 1 and 3 or the fan problem.

my fan relay burned out right after I replaced it as well. That's when I decided to just wire it to a manual switch.

You're second person that told me that. Maybe that means something..but I want to know why it's happening.

Well........If a relay is burning up right after replacing it then that would indicate a dead short in the fan circuit.
If there are no wires that are bare and touching ground or melted together then there is only one other thing it can be and that is the fan motor itself.
on a car of the age your's is it wouldn't be uncommon for the brushes inside the motor to be worn completely out and causing an internal grounding of the fields.
Replace the fan motor

It's a brand new radiator with 2 fans. okay maybe not brand new but it can't be that old.

*edit* sorry for not making this problem diag.

CamaroRS92 does have the right idea tho, there is a major short somewhere which is frying the low power side of the relay.

You said the wiring is "f'd" up a bit? Is it possible that at some point the car had a aftermarket remote start system and the wiring is not complete for those 2 injectors?

These injectors are batch fired so if were a common problem, one whole bank would be out.

Not being a smarty here, but unless it's sat in eviornmetnally controlled garage and wiped with a diaper everyday, it's very hard to find a 3rd gen without ANY of the problems you have experienced. Take mine for example, bum fuel pump, bad distributer shaft, ongoing fan problems, and a wiring harness that has been so hacked apart you oculdn't even use it to string your laundry across the back yard to get some good use out of it. Sound familiar? :dunno:

Exactly. They had a mean sound system in it before and that's why a lot is hotwired around. Over by the ac fan motor, there's tons of weird connections. That's in the upper lefthand corner of the engine bay. I hope the techs can fix it all, and that it doesn't cost too much. The question is though do you think the injectors need replacing?

The owner Bill (old guy i was talking to) said he was going to take the intake plenum off today, maybe the exhaust manifold also. So work's getting done. So far, my car has taken longer than any car brought to M+D from us. (Don't I feel special.)

Well, "system" to which I think you refer as a stereo, was not was I was really after. On a remote start system you need to splice into the injector 1 wiring.

its summer so it wouldnt be to bad of an idea to just buy a whole new wireing harness (and diagram) and get to work on re wireing everything to save from future problems.

Uhh, how much would all the wires cost?

brand new harness from here is 379.00. granted this is a chunk of change to come up with, but think of all the headaches it will prevent in the future, as well as the ones it would solve now.
