Check out the starting bid....

All I can say is.... HOLY SHIT!

(IF this guy gets anything close to that, Red Death is getting posted up on Ebay 5 minutes after his auction ends.)

Sorry but I don't care what history that car has to it, I'll buy the book and let someone ELSE buy a complete disgrace for $20k.

That's not even a frame off resto.... That's more like a GROUND UP fab job.

Good Christ! There is virtually NOTHING there to work with... and the crazy bastard wants $20K!

666_speed

WOW...that's all I know to say. I honestly wouldn't give over $100 for it.

looks like it would collapse if you stepped inside. how did it get in such a bad state? some parts like bits of the diff looked to be in reasonable condition but overall it's useless.

Thats what happens to cars over time that are made mostly of Iron and steel and not rust proofed. Shit gets crusty and falls apart,

Doesnt even have a front clip! I think if you sandblasted the block would be the only thing left.

Anyone notice there are no bids on it yet? I did a full resto on a 73, car was in much better shape than that rustbucket, still took around 2000 hours of labor and alot of money (helps when 5 people are working on it). Was it worth it? Yes. Is that car worth it? To the right person, yes, but not for $20k.

Dyno247365
06-17-2006, 05:19 PM
Is that one of those cars that MAY be worth 100k if fully restored?

Dyno247365
06-17-2006, 10:04 PM
That car had so much rust that I don't think that it would even be worth trying to do anything with. You might as well build one from scratch because that's what you'll be doing with that thing.

Hell no, i'm not buying it. I'm asking if it's that rare though. Mileage counts for it also, and that, looks like it's had a lot...but with reasonable mileage, and he said it WAS a Yenko? I've seen one of those so far, are they rare?

Rally Sport
06-17-2006, 10:22 PM
Yenkos are rare.. REALLY rare.. 427 Big block.. they go for around 60K but that rustmaro right there is a pace car..

im hoping to see some yenkos at carlisle next week. i know there will be some baldwin motion cars. that guy is trying to sell that rust bucket pace car for alot because its a 396 pace car, not a 350 like most of them. i think the rarest pace car is the 69 Z10 pace car hardtop. supposedly chevy made around 200 for pace car buyers that lived in the northern states that would not utilize a convertable. i have never seen one at barrett jackson or anywhere like that. i have only seen a couple photos.

There was a yenko at the car show I went to Saturday, put on by the locals. I wish I had pics, but it was freshly painted a nice green with the 427. Its air filter boasted 450hp. That is the only car worth mentioning from the show, besided the 2 scions who thought they were cool shit and parked on the grass. They had stickers and paint! Every ricer's dream.
Oh, there was an orginal 350 pace car camaro. 1st Gen, don't remember year though.

If it were still a numbers matching original, you'd probably choke to death on what that car will go for when it's cleaned up. And, he'd be doing much better off with some better pictures, that car is not in that bad of shape, alot of work, but salvagable.

You Chicago people need some fresh air....:screwy: and some glasses. That thing was in such bad shape that it was missing most of the parts to the car, which had the numbers on them. :cwm27: ANYONE can find a numbers matching trans and engine. It's the rest of the car that's the problem... especially considering it's not there.

Anyone with some talent can fabricate a car around the motor and trans and come up with a "restored camaro". Problem is, they're never gonna tell you that the frame, body, interior, half the motor and a whole bunch of other stuff came off Goodmark's (and other resto companies') assembly line last week and is brand spanking new.

Unless I'm at a game, in a batting cage or stuck at a bar with a gaggle of cackleing hens and with nothing else to watch, I could give 2 ticks on a dogs ass about baseball. Pretty much all spots all together. Why the hell should I pay my hard earned in moeny to watch a group of millionaires play a game, FOR A LIVING!!!, then complain they need another couple of mill. per year :wtf:

However, georgraphically, and for the nostalgia, and the fact that Wrigley Field, IS the worlds largest outdoor beer garden, hey,

Am i going to the Rape of Chicago? Not too sure. Although they are supposed to be expanding the selection, FINALLY. But I haven't been to it in a few years now. Too damn pricey and crowded. i do miss the fireworks display tho.

I only used to go there for the ribs, but now I live 5 minutes form Robinson's rib house in Broadview, actually used to work right next store, they know me as the "crazy white guy" because I get the extra hot rib tips that supposidly not too many people can tolerate, i think they're tasty :dunno:

Started in Rogers Park, then ended up in Olde Irving Park (Irving & Pulaski)

Pelle died like 21 years ago (HOLY SHIT I AM GETTING OLD)... no strikes back then. Coulda been the best ever. Was going to meet him as a christmas present from my mother, who's friend was an exec for the flyers organization. Unfortunately poontang and booze caught up with him.... ran his Porsche into a brick wall.

http://members.tripod.com/arsj69/lt.html

Haven't really watched it since. Like going to games, but since they are usually running during tax season, it doesn't happen very often.

And I rarely watch TV, my Maro is plenty of excuse to get me out of the house.
