Thunderbird Base Model 1989 3.8 V6

every morning when i go to start my tbird for the first time in the day, it'll start and run for about 2 seconds, then it will either stall out, or it'll run like crap for a few seconds. if it stalls out i'll start it again, and it run like a champ for the rest of the day. if it runs like crap, that will only last for maybe 5 to 10 seconds, than it will run like a champ and i will not have any more problems until the next morning.

i'm thinking condensation is forming in the distributor cap overnight and thats causing the problem. only thing is this never happened before. the plugs are new, and the wires are about 6 months, as well as the distributor cap. should i replace the cap, or should i get something to cover the distributor cap with? this is not a big problem, i just want to make sure i dont have to worry about anything.........

thanks.............

My 89 does the same thing. When you start it up it gets a low idle/or dies. WHen it does idle it sounds like you have like a performance cam!!??!?! just kidding. I found out that the mass air flow sensors go out a little. You might find that if you going down the road say 30-50 mph put it in neutral and it will sound like there is a vaccum leak. It will sound well like vvvvvvrrrrrRRRROOOOOOOOoooommmmmmvvvvvvrrRRRRROOOO OOOoooommmmm. I know it is weird but that could be it. Mine will run rough for like say 1 minute theni give it some gas and it is fine....mass air flow sensor OR you IAC valve. (idle air control) those have a faulty too.
