2002 Yukon 5.3 leaking anti freezebracketshark 06-10-2006, 12:23 PM My wifes Yukon has developed a leak, its coming from the bottom of the water pump but doesn't appear to be from the weep hole. I've never changed a water pump on one of these newer style engines and frankly not all that familiar with them accept to change fluids and filters. With this pump not showing any leakage from the hole do I need to change the pump gasket or is a new pump required? The truck only has <50,000 miles on it and these pumps look like they might be rather expensive. Thanks for any suggestions.:) YukonGMC 06-10-2006, 06:27 PM If it's like my '01, the replacement is-- housing, neck and thermostat -- all one unit. About $60, I think. Shouldn't be too hard to change. bracketshark 06-12-2006, 08:29 PM If it's like my '01, the replacement is-- housing, neck and thermostat -- all one unit. About $60, I think. My price on the pump was 149$ from GM it retails for 247$ :shakehead YukonGMC 06-13-2006, 03:58 AM The one from Hypertech (maker of the programmer), which is a fine part, is only about $60. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
