I check the manual nothing about dashboard.. :banghead: Help.. DRW1000 06-09-2006, 03:49 PM I have a 99 too. I will check on the way home. In the meantime what colour is the light? hawk3232 06-09-2006, 03:51 PM Like yellow .. :banghead: DRW1000 06-09-2006, 06:54 PM It is the "check engine light" CEL for short. Your computer (PCM) has detected a reading from a sensor that is out of the expected range. Step 1: Get the codes read. If you live in the US (I don't so this is not first hand) but Autozones will read the codes for you free of charge. You can also buy a code reader if you prefer Ask for the raw numerical codes and resist any temptation to buy recommended parts just yet. Step 2: Post the numbers here and we can help with some of the more common codes. Just for the record a 99 has a couple of common failure items that are not too difficult to repair if you are handy and don't mind spending a couple of hours on it. hawk3232 06-09-2006, 07:08 PM Thanks, I give that a shot hopefully it's easy... hawk3232 06-10-2006, 04:50 PM Did today it read P1121 controlled fuel and air metering? :banghead: 12Ounce 06-10-2006, 05:20 PM The MAF sensor's readings don't match the Throttle Position (TP) sensor. Either sensor can need cleaning ... or be bad. But more likely is an air leak somewhere around the air filter assembly. Some folks replace the air filter element with the canister in-place in the car. But it is much easier to do like Haynes shows it being done ... remove the entire canister from the car before disassembly/reassembly. And it is smart to use Vaseline on all the "joints" and connections on the canister ... do not use silicone grease!!! And there are some hoses that may be loose or leaking. hawk3232 06-10-2006, 07:08 PM I toke apart air filter it look new So I going replace those 2 items See what happens ? :banghead: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
