Highway RPM's

Recently purchased the 05 LT model, on the highway the engine RPMs are around 2500 at 75 MPH, which seem a little high to me. I get around 2100 on my company Malibu '04 at 80 mph. So I am wondering if there is an O/D issue or simply designed that way.
Would anyone please see what theirs do at around that speed or a speed.
Thank you

The 3.4l Engine In The Equinox Is A Cooler Running Engine. So To Get And Maintain The Optimum Engine Temp The Engine Needs To Have Higher Rpm. Vs The 3.5l In The Malibu Which Is A High Efficiency Engine

Interesting, high efficiency is a good way to put it; getting about 33 mpg on that bad boy. (3.5L Malibu V6)
