Speedometer ClusterBofoMills 06-08-2006, 05:04 AM Hey guys. I've been wanting to change my speedometer cluster on my '93 2.8L 2WD S-10 for a while now considering the gas gauge is faulty and reports bad. Is there a way to fix it without having to buy a new cluster ? I could use the saved money, I am a highschool student. MT-2500 06-08-2006, 10:05 AM Hey guys. First check and see if it is dash or fuel tank sending unit or the wiring. MT BofoMills 06-08-2006, 12:43 PM Well my friend says when the truck is at an angle and low on gas it may not start. When I fill it up all the way it reads as a full tank. MT-2500 06-08-2006, 01:02 PM Well my friend says when the truck is at an angle and low on gas it may not start. Fuel gauges are designed to work on level ground.:grinyes: If it works on level ground do not mess around or fool with it. Or if it is not broke you can not fix it. How much? MT-2500 06-08-2006, 02:53 PM is there an aftermarket cluster i can put in a 87? While we are on this i cant see my speedo through my steering wheel(aftermarket) There may be. Run a google search. Some aftermarket have the all white back ground that really shows up good. Good luck MT busa4 06-08-2006, 02:59 PM your gauge sounds like it is working to me. if you park your vehicle on an incline or decline and start the car up the fuel sending unit float is in a different position than it would be when you are on flat ground thus giving you more or less fuel reading. the fuel gauge sending unit is designed with a delay so you dont see your fuel gauge jumping up and down as your driving. when your driving your fuel is sloshing around moving the float numerous times.
