question reagarding swapelement_2nice 06-05-2006, 11:15 PM hello, I have a 1989 240sx and i will be soon doing a swap. First i was thinking of doing a CA18det swap, but then after some research, i figured that finding parts for CA18det is pretty hard and expensive. :disappoin Then my next choice was SR20det S13 red top, which is also an easy swap for a 89 240sx.....but now I'm getting a really good deal on SR20det S14 Black top, which i might consider but not sure if its gonna be an easy swap? has anyone done a S14 swap on 89 240sx? is there alot of modification needed? or should i just stick with S13 red top? I will be doing swap by myself and couple of buddies r gonna help.... plz advice....:licka: and also is SR20DET (Bluebird) for FWD only? or that can be swap into a RW 89 240sx? MetalHeadZaid 06-06-2006, 12:36 AM the blacltop will fit fine and the FF engines dont work. AWDSR20 06-06-2006, 01:16 PM check FAQS 89'SIL-40 06-10-2006, 03:24 PM Stick with the redtop SR20DET. The redtop is apparently the best base to highly mod. It's an easy swap.....direct bolt in (except ur power steering cause ur car is an 89') the only custom wiring that has to be done is match 5 wires under the dash to the ecu, and 10 wires beside the battery.Oh ya...and on the tranny harness the positive bat. terminal has to be changed or customized to fit on the US bat. posts. U can get the info needed at "jspecautosports.com" under tech support for Nissan....it tells u everything u need to know.....it might actually be form "heavythrottle.com" But anyway u and ur buddies should do the complete swap in one full day.....dont forget to remove ur oil pan and take a rubber mallet to the center...where the oil pick up sits....otherwise u might start ur motor and blow it along with ur turbo........it happened to me on my first swap!lol....but i got a new one for free. good luck...let me know of anymore questions. http://i6.tinypic.com/13zphu0.jpg -The Stig- 06-10-2006, 03:58 PM check FAQS :1: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
