I was wondering what people are getting for average fuel mileage?

99 LS 4DR Blazer 4x4 255000 km
Around $60 bucks to fill tank and I only get 400 – 430 km/tank

Is that basically mostly town driving or highway use?

You need to fix that.

You should be getting 5mpg more than that.

If i dont punch it off the line or try and accelerate fast or pass people i can get about 20-25mpg, if i do drive like a dumbass i get about 10-18. Depends on weather, where im driving and how many people are in the car.

I do 45 miles one way to work everyday, city/highway about 15 are on backroads then the rest is on a highway. Yeah im calling backroads, city driving because of all the stop and go bs from idiot drivers who pull out in front of everone, becaue there to lazy to wait for the empty space of road behind me.

He should be getting at least 15-16.

He has a fuel injector problem.

I get about 15-16 on average, expecially now that my truck is running quite poorly. :( Used to be like 22 on the highway if not more.

The reason I ask for input (which is great thanks everyone) is I have not done any upgrades or major tune ups. I am a newbie to this forum and I love it. Everthing is factory on my 99 blazer LS 4 x 4 and I was wondering if or what upgrades I could do to improve MPG i.e. better spark plugs, upgrade air flow intake system stuff like that. I get around 15-16 MPG Elevation here is :
3556 ft / 1084 m

I get about 16 mpg or roughly 375 kms per tank. What really sucks is that here in my neck of the woods (Canada) gas is $1.15/L or $4.36/US gallon, so it costs me about $100 to fill. :frown: Yes they are quite a pig on gas. I think my Nova gets better gas milage! Or at least no worse.

I believe it is rated at 18 in the city and 21 on the highway.

I have been able to get almost 25mpg all highway 60-65mph.

I have a 2005 blazer (72L tank), when I last drove across canada I was doing around 420 - 430 km / tank driving at a constant 90km. In the city I usually get 400 km / tank. This works out to about 13.07 City and 13.72 MPG HWY

Gas prices up here are killing me I might have to park it and get a beater to drive around in soon.

How are you guys getting over 15 on yours? My truck barely has 11,000 km on it and it doing pretty poor comparatively speaking. How could I improve fuel consumption? Would replacing the stock tires do anything?

most speed limits are around 35 or 40 in the city where i am and 60 or 70 on the hiway so with my 95 vortec with 3.42 gears i get about 15 city mayeb 17 if i am nice and 19-19.5 hiway

Huh, I think you need to redo your numbers.

Do you note how many liters of duel was used to go that distance?
