how badly will the silencer interfere with the performance of the car ? i needed to have one put on to pass inspection, and to stop getting pulled over, but i've never had one put onto a car before and was wondering what kinda impact it would have on a full catback. lose most of the horsepower it offers? or... i dunno, u tell me...

It won't knock you back down to stock exhaust power, but it will stick it somewhere in between. The pipe diameter is still larger than the stock exhaust, so you're probably getting 60-70% of the cat-back's gains.

if its a straight thru perforated core design, youll still have 90-95% of the power. sometimes even 100%. i wouldnt hesitate to put one on even if i didnt need to pass smog. its almost a complete win-win situation

yes, 90-95% of the total power. But I can guarantee you that the silencer will cut out at least 25% of the GAINED power. Meaning, losing 1-3hp on a 5-10hp cat-back.
