It uses a MAF sensor on the intake but it's a different design. I should be able to clean that just like on our trucks - right?? OverBoardProject 06-05-2006, 08:27 PM Ask the Ranger or Explorer forums. I ask here cause I know who I can trust with advice and many people here have exp with other vehicles too. s10blazerman4x4 06-05-2006, 09:05 PM Well the CB i got an antenna from Wal Mart to see if it works it works but only on the Interstate and only on Channel 19. There is squat for room in cutlass to mount it i gotta find a place for it. Im not sure Muzzy on that either. OverBoardProject 06-06-2006, 11:36 PM What a tick off, I just picked up my camara from the repair shop today and went to try it a few min ago and it still has the same problem. That's after I just spent $115.00 to get it fixxed. Everything seems to work, but aparantly the shutter doesn't open :frown: It's going back tomorrow, and I hope that they can fix it instantly since I won't be here long. Yes I can get a new camara for just a few bucks more, but they're poor quality compaired to mine. And until I can afford a top quality one I'll just stick with what I have. On a side note, it looks like I'm going on a small trip to Canmore Alberta in 2 weeks to visit one of the most wonderful women that I've ever met. http://www.coldwellbankerbcr.com/?OVRAW=canmore%20alberta&OVKEY=canmore%20alberta&OVMTC=standard Several of my winter pic's are from there on my web site, and although I don't really care about staying there I'd love to have my friend (Just really good friends) move close to me. wolfox 06-07-2006, 12:11 PM Alright guys, had a few bucks to burn and tried updating/modding my navigation PC in the truck. Got a hold of Streets and Trips 2006 with a GPS receiver in the kit for $90. Up until now, I have been using S&T 2004 with a Garmin Venture handheld GPS modded to take cigarettelighter current and an active, re-radiating antenna setup. (Really complex stuff to get into with any real detail and not have your heads spinning). The new 2006 version of the software is really neat in two ways - 1) THe map will auto zoom and orient itself relative to your travelling vector and when you approach a turn, increasing map detail. 2) Voice directions while en-route. It's so cool to not to have to glance sideways at a display, taking your eyes off the road. Since the audio is patched in fromthe truck PC into the stereo head (Mostly for MP3 playback) the voice comes up through the speakers when you approach the next part of your route/turn. Verra nice, IMO. If you need to hear directions again, just touch the spacebar on the PC. Or - glance at the screen and in large, bold text at the bottom is your next instruction and turn information in one line. Oh, it also has a nifty "Night map" setting that turns the display into a night-vsion friendly green at lower intensities. Until this feature, I was using a utility called "Dark Adapted" to dim the display and menu bars @ night. Now, the GPS sensor that comes with it is good if you DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING ELSE to use. It's a 12 channel, parallel reciever with WAAS correction, so it will manage to do diversity/dithering agerages to further lock your position within about 20 feet or so. However, when it looses lock on the WAAS or if you're idling under tree cover at a light and your sattelite lock drops to about 2-3 birds onthe horizon - it thinks you're moving 1-3 MPH in the direction you were last heading in. If the light lasts longer than a minute, it's funny to watch the software plot where you "were going" and then suddenly yoink the position indicater back to where you REALLY are once satellite lock is established again. Turning on route tracks will make this really intriguing to watch. I do not think, this little rebadged Pharos iGPS 350 "puck" with it's blue glowing Micro$oft logo on top does any channel/satellite averaging. Its internal CPU is just too slow for it. (About 12 Mhz from what I can tell from pulling the clear plastic clamshell apart) It's internal patch antenna NEEDS unobstructed sky to horizon view. However, it's nice not to have to lug a ton of cables and wires into the truck to get the Garmin unit working, the Garmin unit is ROCK stable compared to the puck in the box that came with the software. Where the Garmin can tell me down to within 2 meters (typically) of where I am and you can SEE on the screen in S&T 2004 and 2006 which side you're on, and even which LANE you are travelling in - the Pharos/Microsoft puck will often have you looking like you're travelling down the median or the curb at maximum map magnification. So it works for just plain navigation and the installation is cleaner since it is USB fired, and takes power from the port. One cable, and zero, plug-n-play configuration to get it to work. Switching to the Garmin unit is not tough, I just tell the software to scan Com-1 serial at 4800 baud for a NMEA 2.x device and it picks it right up. I am going to pull my hidden active repeating GPS antenna rig down and figure out a way to weatherproof the M$ puck to magnetically mount atop of my rig, running the USB extenstion cable through a door seal and see if this improves things with this charming little device. My USB extention cable, BTW - is a USB Extender with A-type connectors on each end that's been hacked in half. I then use the four pairs inside of a standard Cat-5e Ethernet cable to stretch the distance, the twisted pairs being self-shielding and noise reducing. (You can extend USB 2.0 up to 50 feet like this kids!) Anyway, I figured I would let you know that the Microsoft Streets & Trips 2k6 software is worth it, especially if you already have a solid GPS rig in your trucks. And even if you do not, the kit that includes the GPS receiver hockey puck in the box is still loads better than nothing and is more than good enough to get you from point a to b in an entertaining manner. For best results, until you can fabricate an external rig: Place velcro on the back of the GPS reciever and the mating material on a plate of copper, steel or aluminum for a grounding backplane. Place that sandwich on the dash between your windshield wipers - more or less offset to the passenger side so the metal wiper blades do not block the weak signal. Use the suction cup on the wire that adapts the serial output of the puck to USB to hold the works in place and flat on the dash. This should get you a satellite lock on at least 6-8 of the 12 sattelites typically overhead in orbit and get the unit to lock within 40 seconds. This will get it sending accurate enough to drive by data that is halfway decent. I will report back later on how it works in an external enclosure. TTYL! s10blazerman4x4 06-07-2006, 07:35 PM http://www.fhmus.com/articles-1276.asp?cnl_id=5&stn_id=46&idx_id=1276 Kari Byron in FHM this month Got some links here. http://www.rollocrab.com/ http://www.crab-northwestern.com/ http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=79746927 http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=44564280 Some Deadliest Catch links above. Gonna get a bus from orlando to blazees. wolfox 06-08-2006, 01:23 AM Later this day, I made a little project in relation to my post above. The weird, wandering GPS position lock problem has been solved: http://gentle-wolfox.livejournal.com/31945.html#cutid1 Warnng, not 56k friendly but worth the wait. It was a good project - took about 4 hours off and on to finish up. And - I still have all of my fingers. :D mike1224 06-08-2006, 02:48 AM thats great wolfox. definitely something to keep in mind. better than using google local on my cell, or printing out mapquest then trying to find the next page while going down the freeway. im quite out of space. on the roof. i've got a standard cab s-10 w/ a moonroof. that 3 cup height might interfere with the glass. wolfox 06-08-2006, 03:11 AM I need to post a reference photo, but it's footprint is no larger than a CD-ROM. (About 5.25 inches, maybe less) So anywhere you have enough metal to comfortably place a disc, you can put this puppy down on. I would have gone smaller, but then I would have to do some weird stuff to stick magnets and the GPS down into - your backplane directly beneath the receiver needs to be...errr, well, a plane. :D Oh, and thanks for the kind words. Edit: You could place the receiver either on a bed rail, or in the bed, centered. Remember that you want at least a 45 degree angle on the open sky overhead. Run the extension USB cable in through your back window if roof installation proves to be a hassle. Or, skip the all-in-one pack from Microsoft, and get just plain old Streets & Trips installed on your laptop/Mini ATX. Without the reciever unit, it's a fast $40. You can then augment a GPS designed from the start with a remote, actively amplified antenna. It would be the same size as the "puck" I have, but be weatherproof. They are very similar in shape and size as Sirrus or XM radio antennas. (They also utilize an active, LNA like configuration to pipe the signal into your vehicle over a single coax wire) Power and amplified signal pass on the same coax cable to a remote reciever installed under the dash. With many that have USB or Serial hookups, adding the PC is a breeze, as is running a dedicated head, like many of the Garmin GPSMap 2xx Or Street Pilot series. But those heads start at $700 for a touch-screen B&W model. Color easily takes on 2 C-notes more and do not add one jot of enhanced features - just color. There are also many OEM type solutions out there where one can pick up for a fraction of the cost of a finished unit, a simple GPS receiver, no package, no nothing. Supply it with appropriate power after hiding the module anywhere you have open sky above it. (Many built-in vehicle navigation systems use these, even GM in thier OnStar products that have GPS utilize a bare-bones, no package GPS module stuffed into the side of a body control module - serial data being converted into overhead console and in-dash interfaces) It dumps a standard NMEA 2.x output via serial. You may have to fabricate your own harness, but you save a ton of cash this way. Once it has power and decent vehicle body location; it will lock and track satellites and blow the data down a serial link that Streets & Trips, PDA's, MapPoint, Garmin, Megelan, Open Source mapping utilities under Linux - even Pharos' Mini pocket PC versions of products can ALL read. Serial is serial, and NMEA is NMEA. Anything that can use those two technologies together will get you a whip-ass rig running in no time flat. The ultimate however - is what is called DGPS. DGPS is an enhancement that utilizes another antenna/reciever to listen for real-time error and jitter correction transmited from ground bases within our atmosphere on the satellites just above your head. Agregating this data stream into the normal WAAS enabled reciever simultaneously allows for *autonavigation* of vehicles, like automated fish-finders and autopilots you find on marine vessels. The correction/dithering data is just THAT GOOD. It's even BETTER if you're in the military! Civilian units will not have the super secret, ultra good positioning of the big boys, with good rason. (You see, they still continue to purposely add a little bump here and there on the order of 1.5 yards that the civilian units recieve to prevent super-acurate mapping information that *cough*-*cough* civilians might exploit for *caff* delivering nasty packages in cruise missiles... You didn't hear that from me however. Pick up your complimentary tin-foil hat to the right as you leave, thanks.) And the really KEEN part is - *every* Garmin hand-held eTrex series reciever supports this. *licks lips and starts jonesing on another project* With a little over a meter of dead-on accuracy, this lends itself to some experimenting, but that's for wide open fields and sunny, still days. Read: Model Helicpter Auto-navigation and A.I. guidance. Okay, enough rambling out of me, I am off to bed. Goodnight, and enjoy everyone. s10blazerman4x4 06-08-2006, 09:56 AM http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/06/08/iraq.al.zarqawi/index.html HELL YES FINALLY DELIVERING SOME JUSTICE s10blazerman4x4 06-08-2006, 05:54 PM Ok the following is a post i put on a diff board but since i know blazee and overboard patrol here maybe you can give me an answer. I have been fighting antifreeze blowing out my overflow for about a month now. Did this today. Ok i did a test about 30 mins ago. Went down added coolant to compensate for what was purged. Turned car on let idle, temp reached 180 then rose to 220 here is what i wanted to see. If car got to 220 the fan should have kicked on. It did not so i gave it a little gas to see if maybe reving the motor had any impact on fan, no the temp climbed to about 230 no fan turning on. Both rad hoses are hot. So does this mean coolant temp sensor faulty not allowing fan to turn on thus coolant reaching boiling point and leaving the overflow? OverBoardProject 06-08-2006, 06:23 PM You guessed it, it's most likely either the temp sensor or the fan motor it's self. The motors easy to test, just unplug it and run a jumper wire to it. You'll probably also need to run a jumper to the ground. If it spins you just eliminated the fan. Plug it back in. Next unplug the temp sensor and run a jumper from 1 terminal to the next. You'll probably need your ignition switch turned on for this. If the fan starts spinning it's your problem. If not it's wiring or the fuse (which I already assume that you checked) You can use a test light to see if you have power getting to the switch. Just looking at Rock Auto there's also a fan relay (a very good idea) wich might have packed it in as well. I don't have any access to any books here and I'm just starting to pack so that's the best that I can help you at the moment. Good luck with it Shawn s10blazerman4x4 06-08-2006, 06:37 PM Can Paper Clip Jump it? I have a test light and probally will go do it if it stops raining. If it is the fan motor what will probably happen is that fan will get removed the taurus fan which has more CFM or the 16" universal fan which also has more CFM will go in. Regardless that temp sensor getting replaced. I nearly burned hand on thermostat housing cap and rad hoses so i know coolant is a circulating. EDIT RAN SOME TESTS at 6:44PM TONIGHT How i jumped fan. Paper Clip in A and B like you would to see codes because it puts computer in limp mode fan turns on. Ran the test light on the pins on the sensor nothing and the key was switched to on. So if no power at coolant sensor that tells me no work correct. s10blazerman4x4 06-08-2006, 09:00 PM Ok this goes back to me asking about wiring the CB to the fuse box. I found out last night from looking at various off road jeep pages that they sell fuse taps and that is how the jeep guys wire there CBs so when they are out on the trail there is no interference because if you have it 12volt power plug all the interference from wipers brakes gas etc interferes with your signal etc/ Well i bought a 6 pack of these blade fuse taps at Autozone for 1.99. Had no idea what i was doing. Found that i have 3 open fuse slots. I put the fuse tap over the fuse and into the where the fuse must go and it fit so i go ok. Ran a power wire 16 gauge to match what the power wire on CB was to the fuse panel. Here i crimped the supplied connector for the fuse tap onto the power wire then onto the tap. Then i looped the tap over the fuse and inserted it. Then i ran 14 gauge ground wire per CB wire and went looking for solid ground.Ash tray no. Cigarette lighter holy crap was that a great place to ground. I had signal on every channel around 3-9 and one channel was in green 30+. I could not ground it there as i run radar and it would have looked not so good. So i decided per some Jeep pages to ground it to the seat holding bolt. NOw from my experience in swapping seats i knew it was a 13MM deep socket undid the bolt took the 14 gauge ground inserted into biggest loop connector i could find crimped, taped, tightened bolt down. Signal is impressive, even with the 10 crappy wal mart antenna i got good signal from 1-21 and i even recieve some channels from 22-40. I found myself actually turning off the AN which is noise cancellation to hear it. I ran the power wire back above Sirius tuner and through the fuse box cover handle. Hear in morning i have to see if i can crimp the connector the tap as it is a bit loose for my liking, but signal does not waver or power of signal. I still want to throw a couple wire clips up on the power wire so it is a little more out of the way. Overall the process took about an hour for someone like myself who is still learning to wire in cars and what not. I ran the car to test for interference from the car ABSOLUTELY NONE you can not tell the CB cost .50cents or the antenna cost 10 bucks it is that quiet on most channels and when i apply the brakes no cutting out. All i have to do is turn the CB from off to on and it turns on. In morning ill snap some pics before i head to Pocono and when i get back from qualifying tommorow ill post up what it looks like and all that great stuff. blazee 06-09-2006, 04:56 PM You'll get a lot better performance with a better antenna. I'm using a wilson 1000, it works real nice. The CB is just a Cobra. It's been tweaked to put out about 35 watts instead of the 4 that factory CBs come with. I've also got a PA speaker in the grill so I can yell at people to get the F*** out of the way. If you get serious about CBs, get a Galaxy. They're the best IMO. Not only can they be tweaked to get a lot of power out of them, but they also have a lot of cool features like side bands and echo. Here's a pic of mine mounted on the roll bar: http://img286.imageshack.us/img286/1931/0609060256td.jpg s10blazerman4x4 06-09-2006, 07:48 PM i likey. Im looking into antennas. My dad got his hat signed and continued to shake for 10 minutes afterward. I just shoved camera in face took pic for him. OverBoardProject 06-11-2006, 03:03 AM No One's posted in a day, What Gives :lol2: The first stage of my move is 1/2 complete. I have to go back, and pick up the Blazer after I get the carb working properly. It started missing badly shortly after I replaced the ignition system, so I thought that it was an ignition problem even with all new everything. I'll be going back on Thursday for it. I got my camara back from the shop, and it's working perfectly. I even got a compact tripod to go with it now http://www.kvsbt.com/stu's/Tripod.JPG Plus I got a color Laser printer as well. It looks like I've got a good chance of getting financing for that house and 3 acres that I posted a few days ago. If I like the place. blazee 06-11-2006, 05:46 PM Poor guy: Life changing decision - Your advice needed (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=526396) Check out: The Official AF "Quote" Thread (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=575855) s10blazerman4x4 06-11-2006, 09:46 PM I was out at the races lol. Going to bed shortly as i am sunburnt, got work at 7 tommorow morning, and have drove over 300 miles in the past 3 days. OverBoardProject 06-11-2006, 10:31 PM I hope that the races were good I had driven over 300 miles on friday alone, so what's the point Shawn :uhoh: and then well over 200 yesterday. I haven't even started my car yet today though. I used to drive alot, so that's almost low mileage for me., although I can live without it now. Thanks s10blazerman4x4 06-14-2006, 08:00 PM Lol false advertising there blazee. Lol yes and she is now expecting. The race was great. Usually 500 miles at pocono will put one to sleep but this was a great race. Ill get some pics up later from the weekend. Looking for a wilson 1000. Oh on that note i saw an insane looking wilson CB last night hell it was 140 bucks where i saw it i can not remember. Blazee would electronic installers be able to tune CB antennas and what not? I looked and there are no local CB tuners. I could go camping where i go in Sproul State Forest and there is this place off of 80 that does it :) yes but no must work 37, 39 and more. EDIT blazee is your wilson 1000 antenna through roof or what? http://www.rfwiz.com/Wilson1000.htm s10blazerman4x4 06-14-2006, 09:27 PM This is the CB i was thinking of going with http://www.www.premiere-electronics.net/store/galaxydx959.html. There was also a Cobra found here http://www.cobra.com/index.php?page=shop/flypage&product_id=12&id=1 both of which have been found on ebay cheaper. Also i like the galaxy line they can be found here for any one intrigued. http://www.galaxyradios.com/productline.html They have a DX919 which from what i found on ebay is a pretty nice little radio with lots of features. Also love the free porn thread. lol i knew you could come up with something for that. blazee 06-14-2006, 10:21 PM My wilson has a magnet base, you just stick it to the roof. You'll probably need to go to a CB shop if you want to get it tuned. If you can't find on just get on channel 19 and ask a truck driver where the closest one is. They usually know. There's a ton of CB shops around here, most of them don't advertise. This is the CB that used to have, its still the favorite of all the dog hunters that I know: http://www.galaxyradios.com/33.html  The free porn thread seems to be working. 32 views today. s10blazerman4x4 06-14-2006, 10:36 PM Well actually that i was looking and if i buya cb from premier they will tune it for extra cost. Also saw that there were 2 different mounts for the wilson one magnet and one through roof. Havent done no talking yet on it. Well one time just to make sure i was transmitting and recieving and that was all good. I hear alot of ham radio on it. Only CB to CB when im on the interstate. blazee 06-14-2006, 10:41 PM I'm not familiar with the 959, so I don't know how it compares to the 33. Installed in PCI slot 1 followed directions installed software went into media center it does not recognize tuner. So i uninstalled the drives put it in PCI slot 2 re installed everything and same thing. I have the cable hooked up. Do i need to hook in audio controls or what? WTF i can play tv via wintv32 and the audio is really low yet my computer audio is high as hell, yet media center will not recognize my tuner and it is made for it, i got the remote. Also i think i mite get the 5.1 PCI card here and hook up my surround sound. ok got an update on it. I got all my drivers up to date on this computer for the software, media center still will not recognize. Another thing is i ran a Windows decoder check and it said im using Intervideo as my main decoder. Then i downloaded this windows media decoder and nothing not working yet. Another update here. According to the guy at HP my wintv pvr 150 media center kit is not compatible with HP's media center yet they sell you a remote to use for media center with the windows logo on it, they have COMPATIBLE WITH HP MEDIA CENTER all over the box, and all the drivers are for HP MEDIA CENTER, i am at a lost for what to do. OverBoardProject 06-18-2006, 12:33 AM I believe its made by BMW. they are mainly used in Europe but they are suppose to be deciding this year if they can sell them in the US. Here is the link http://www.cnn.com/2006/AUTOS/06/07/pluggedin_fortune/index.html It's actually made by Mercedes, and it's called the smart car. They claim that they get 85 mpg, with what I believe is a 3 cylinder Diesel motor. They were developed by both the creator of the Swatch watch (remember the 80's) and Mercedes. The name actually came from Swatch Mercedes A R T as in an art piece. Here's an artical on them http://www.thesmart.ca/index.cfm?ID=4720 I kinda like them, but haven't driven any yet There are more body styles in Europe Oh, I don't have high speed at the moment, but try smart car on Google video (or smart car crash test) They did remarkably good in a high speed crash test into a brick wall. both doors still opened, and if I remember correctly they both closed as well I just found them, but can't watch them http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4104261162559881379&q=smart+car http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3003838502471286036&q=smart+car http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2117130312975963808&q=smart+car http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-755537514509842927&q=smart+car This one happened about 15 min from where I just moved from (I'll actually try downloading it) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6065775823432474274&q=smart+car s10blazerman4x4 06-19-2006, 05:44 PM Lol yeh your right OBP well the thing with that was i read it like a week or so a go and never looked at the article again just copied in the link. oh what a weekend. Had to goto NY yesterday because the 01 Blazers ignition locked up and the key nor steering wheel would move. So i went up with my dad to get my mom and sister and thought was they would have that to drive home in. Well going up the temp started to rise it would peg then drop then peg then drop and were only going 55-60.We stopped put water in, let it cool and since the overflow was full thought somethings not right but we had to keep going. So we kept going but the temp light would come on and off. Got to this gas station decided were going to open the thermostat housin cap to see wtf the problem is. No coolant in there but full in overflow./ Yanked thermostat and filled with 2 gallons of cold water. No real problem till first rest stop in NY and we had to link up with my uncle because i wanted an escort in incase it blew. Well here we found out that the brand new radiator cap had blew and was spewing coolant but only when system was unpressurized. Got to there house and blazer no move. So i brought my mom home and sister and all the time its 130 inside because engine is throwin heat into vents. Well made a stop at wendys no problem. Then i heard the tick tick tick of death so i pulled over at the first rest stop i came to and checked overflow its full. So i go ill open the therm housing cap since its not under pressure and i wanted to see what was the issue. Made a half turn and she blew everywhere. Cap went up then down coolant/water everywhere. Coolant water was chocolate colored, when adding water it was fish tank bubbles, then for about 20 miles after that it was reading 100 instead of where it should have been then it got to 220 finally and i knew it had to have been more because heat had started inside again. Finally said to hell with this pretty much went 65-70 mph last 65 miles home so i could get home. This morning nothing in overflow but thermo housing neck is full, still shooting out excess coolant somehow. Between me, dad, mechanic were pretty sure its headgasket were gonna find out Wednesday. The blazer apparently the ignition switch broke. Never read on here of 01s having that problem it was under warranty which expired Sunday so he was lucky. Only good news was i got an email from Hauppage and i had to re-install Windows Net Framework 1.1 again even though it was installed, then the update to Media Center which was roll up number 2, then restart, then another update, then restart. Now it works but the quality is pretty poor, i prefer to watch in WinTV2000 actually. 352 miles on a tank of gas in cutlass up to NY and back home. 7hrs of driving plus 2hrs of stops plus 2 hours up ther.I got home at 1AM. OverBoardProject 06-19-2006, 08:25 PM That is a rough weekend Shawn. Glad that you got through it. I am now the proud owner of a 85 Chevy Diesel parts truck, that runs great but needs some transmission work http://www.kvsbt.com/stu's/Chevy%204x4%20conversion/Parts%20truck.JPG Here's the rough draft of the page that I'm starting on it http://www.kvsbt.com/stu's/Chevy%204x4%20conversion/Diesel%20Conversion.html And I entered a true story on another forum hoping that I'll win a boat for a friend of mine. My story is the top contender, and I'm really hoping that I'll win her this cute little pram http://www.bcboatnet.org/Jonpram/JonPram101s.jpg Here's the story that I entered This story is 100% true, and happened to me. If it's the winning story I'll give the boat to my 1 friend mentioned whom I'm hoping will be moving to the Okanagan soon. I was living in peachland at the time, and met up with a friend of mine. She was meeting 4 other friends (whom I had never met before) and joining them on their boat. She of course asked me to join them, and we had a good time floating around and going for the odd swim. However it wasn't enough, 1 of the women asked the owner if we could go into Kelowna and go dancing in a water front pub. We had a good time in there, and left shortly after dark. I chose to sit on the passanger seat instead of riding in the bow this time. Well that's pretty well the end of my memories for the night. I only remember being intrested in the owner, and understand that she was as intrested in me. Apparantly 2 people on the boat did a head count partly through the trip and counted 7 people on the boat. However only 6 of us ever left the dock that night. They both claim that the seventh person was standing in between us all. (Could it have been an Angel?) The next puzzling thing is the boat apparantly suddenly hit 3 hard objects, slowing it down a little and throwing the nose skywards. Well you can imagine that we flew into the shore on the wrong side of the Okanagan Lake. Close to Rattlesnake Island. Everyone figures that if we didn't hit those 3 hard objects we'd all be dead, and you'll understand why when you read the newspaper artical that I'll post. (I'm told that the picture they have is the least scary as well) I woke up in pain, and unable to really breath after (I'm told) breaking the dash on a SeaRay. From what I understand someone had somehow managed to find a cell phone in all the wreakage, and phoned 911. The rescue boats had nothing but open water approaching the boat, and never did find those 3 hard objects that we had hit. When we got to KGH 4 of the passangers got released (2 of them got released because there were no beds, and 2 weren't hurt) The owner broke her Sturnem, and had to spend 2 days in there. I fractured 2 vertibrates (which is where my bad back comes from) broke more ribs than they could count, plus my Sturnem as well, and badly bruised my lungs. Which also got punctured. Anyways I had a good friend of mine from Canmore coming up for a visit the next day. I got my mom to phone her (I could hardly speak) and tell her what happened. My mom told her that she didn't have to come, but I would still love to see her. So I'm really gratefull that she did come up, and she really helped me more than the hospital ever could. She even smuggled me in a natural pain killer when the Morphine wasn't helping. The natural pain killer did help. I am so gratefull that this friend of mine drove 5 or so hours to see me, when she was tired after work, and yet my friends that were living in the Okanagan couldn't make it. She is the person that I'll give the boat to if I have the opertunity to win it. Thanks for letting me share my story http://mypage.uniserve.ca/~kvsbt/scrap/boat%20crash.JPG s10blazerman4x4 06-19-2006, 10:10 PM Wow. Yeh for now OBP im through it i know im not going to drop another 2.5 in it just going to see how bad see if i can maybe go for another 2 months so i can get some coin together to get another one. What really sucks is im now working 37-39 (40 this week) and had figured out that i could pay the credit cards and my dad off by end of year. What sucked was though getting up at 630 for work missed alarm got woke up at 640 so lol you will have that. Enough ramblings though. OverBoardProject 06-21-2006, 06:05 PM That's great news Shawn s10blazerman4x4 06-21-2006, 10:00 PM My 15" LCD monitor somehow crapped out on my computer dont know how all i know is that ill have the new one by Friday according to HP. I love warranties. Right now it works but the color is all black and white with blue tint. Been working on my dads computer. Were pretty sure monitor is gone but wierd thing was when we hooked mine up this morning the computer wouldnt turn that on either. So we went out and i made him buy a "cheap" graphics card just so i could have the monitor input port. I made him get the ATI Radeon 9250 its more than he ever needs. Must have played with it for an hour. Right now i got the broken monitor down here he is going to get an ACER 17" FLat Screen LCD at wal mart tommorow which is great. Does anybody know why like right now i have this LCD in the original monitor hookup but why if i hook the monitor into the graphics card i just get startup screen then blank screen. Not enough power? I know my way around inside but i dont know, i have this ATI Control panel and it says i have that card running i guess its because i didnt have a working second monitor hookedup to it.\\\ Ill let you know how them pics work in two days when i get the monitor ill be able to see color. He is giving me a toggle switch so i can just turn it on which will be insane. So if anyone out there has ideas let me know i can hear the old monitor that he had on this computer sizzle but not turn on lol so i guess its done also he wants me to put in a CDROM that works i guess the one in the front doesnt work right, is that just remove the front case disconnect the cable and install new one? OverBoardProject 06-22-2006, 12:13 AM Well the new project is officially under way. I've almost got the diesel ready to pull, although it'll stay in there until I'm good and ready. I also went to the best auto wreck in the area, and have worked out a deal for Jeep differentials. My plans include a solid axle swap, which is stronger. Plus I can (and will) run lockers on both differentials that way. Just say that when I get stuck with that setup I'll be really stuck. Good thing that it's easy to find bulldozers around here, and I am trained to run them. DINO55 06-22-2006, 07:19 PM Yesterday I was having some work done at the car dealer. A woman came in and asked for a seven-hundred-ten. They all looked at each other, and the Mechanic asked, "What is a seven-hundred-ten?" She replied, "You know, the little piece in the middle of The engine. I lost it and need a new one. It had always been there." The mechanic gave the woman a piece of paper and a pen and Asked her to draw what the piece looked like. She drew a circle and in the middle of it wrote 710. He then took her over to another car which had the hood up And asked, "Is there a 710 on this car?" She pointed and said, "Of course, it's right there." Click here to learn the identity of the mysterious 710: mademelaugh.com/gfx/710.jpg (http://mademelaugh.com/gfx/710.jpg) s10blazerman4x4 06-22-2006, 07:35 PM haha that is great Hey guys mike has a a problem and is on the road and wont get back till tommorow. His truck threw a code p0184. Also if i heard him correct on phone today he spiked the temp gauge on the s10 2.2 to 240 and he had dexcool everywhere. Guy at autozone tried to tell him p0184 was a tranny code. I checked what it was and through google found it might be a result of gas cap not tight enough. I sent him a text stating to tighten the gas cap and let me know. Also i think maybe his coolant system puked due to being in new mexico. P0184 Fuel Temperature Sensor A Circuit Intermittent Any ideas he wont be back in till tommorow night i believe he said if ya have anything let me know ill get it to him. OverBoardProject 06-22-2006, 08:18 PM I know that it's a pain in the butt, but tell Mike to only drive after dark, and make sure that his cell has a full charge. Plus bring at least 2 gallons of water. Driving after dark will help keep his truck cool, and it's worth it even if he has to miss a day of work (I heard him caugh really badly didn't I :lol2: ) muzzy1maniac 06-22-2006, 09:49 PM As brutal as it is he should also drive with the heat on high. And open windows so he don't pass out!! mike1224 06-23-2006, 09:06 PM lol just hit town. spent 3+ hours on the road. Canon city to Aurora. Traffic was a nightmare, stop and go. On average I spent 3 hours driving per day the last week. On last friday spent about 8 hours on the road. I figured the boiling over was due to sitting in the parking lot idiling w/ AC on while on cell (over 90F in the cities we were in. With the gas cap issue, i lost it between Durango CO, and Pagosa Springs CO. Got best gas milage ever (also used super since the ride was paying) 20-24MPG also wondering is speed was a factor, only in towns was I below 50, normally 75-90. I Have 219Mi on the tank right now, barely below half, usually I'd be having maybe a quarter tank. On the way home temp never went past 210, so im sure theres nothing to be concerned about (running AC every once in a while). Put about 1500 miles on the truck. Had a little trouble with the inclines, but all went OK. One of the riders was riding to her hotel, and was hit by an RV, sadly she died on impact. The driver didn't see her and had no clue he had run over a person. http://cbs4denver.com/local/local_story_173190341.html Starting to think of trading up to a 2003+ Blazer with the ZR2 package mike1224 06-23-2006, 09:08 PM saw this on the local news-stations website. apparently, they want to tax soda, to help pay for city debt. Calais has blown up. muzzy1maniac 06-27-2006, 09:37 AM That sucks - what happened? s10blazerman4x4 06-27-2006, 12:38 PM Motor blew up big time. Been having cyclic overheating where 20 minutes into a run it would send all heat into car but temp gauge would not go past 180 then you would smell antifreeze and then it would puke out overflow. Had it into mechanic last friday for coolant flush coolant temp system another pressure test and i had no issues friday then it started saturday and it did it saturday sunday then when i went to him yesterday she blew up. I started spewing antifreeze out of my vents in the car and it was during our monsoon here so everything is fogging up then i had to go climb a big ol hill and its getting worse worse nearly stalled at top of hill then just got there. What was great was even though no antifreeze in overflow i had a big puddle. We might get some permanent headgasket repair stuff or something so i can drive it into the junkyard for more money. I put some good amount of coin into it to make it run. muzzy1maniac 06-27-2006, 07:50 PM HHMMMMMMM- new project? V-8 into a Calais?? Ok - maybe that's a little extreme but could you imagine a blown 350?????? s10blazerman4x4 06-27-2006, 07:51 PM Nope either going to try to go newer via a few buy here pay here's locally that carry lots of newer stuff for very little down or going to go back to a s-10 blazer. Seems the price went up since i bought mine. How i dont know but thats what it seems like. s10blazerman4x4 06-28-2006, 10:14 PM Anyone around me also affected by the massive flooding? My towns probally one of the few dry ones haha besides swamp land everywhere but it now takes a good while to go anywhere. First ones in the state to get the national guard and coast guard today. Its all moving down stream raw sewage and all. Among other things we got floating in that river, coal residue(waste). We got Auburn, Haven, Parts of pottsville port carbon tamaqua all shut down so many places so many roads. Thought town was going to be closed this morning the one creek going out of town by our post office was up to the top of the bridge. We were forecast to get rain overnight but not now which is good. We have had like 15-16" since Saturday night. Wilkes Barre up the line about 45 mins is about to get an anal raping by the Susquehanna. OverBoardProject 06-29-2006, 12:44 AM Well living in Canada's hottest area isn't too nice here either these days. I'm ticked off, I just bought a 3" body lift kit and found out that they're too cheap to even supply bumper re-locating brackets. I could really care less about the back since I'm flipping my trailer hitch upside down and I might get a bumper built to work around it or make a custom roll pan, but I'd sure like to raise the front bumer those 3" to match the body. Plus don't they usually have something to raise the fuel tank as well? I would have made my own up if I'd have known that they were going to miss hard to fabricate yourself stuff billibong 06-29-2006, 09:02 AM Shawn: I live south of you, just south of Gettysburg. We've been hit pretty hard with the flooding in the area, we had two teenagers that have gone missing and appear to have been swept away in one of our creeks. For instance i like newer but when you have anywhere from a 89 C1500 to a 91 Sonoma extended cab 4x4 4.3 to a set of 91 blazers my heart falls there. Im going down actuallY Sunday with my dad while they are closed because that way when i go Monday night i will know what i want to drive and see what i can do. Honestly if i go down Sunday night and i like that Sonoma i might just call her up monday night and see if they would go 350/400 on calais 130 cash on spot 150 cash thursday and no cosignor just drive. Because even with 300 calais then by Thursday another 180 i want to be in the 500 down range somehow. mike1224 07-01-2006, 01:40 AM hey guys, I have some questions. 1. whats the difference in the engine as a whole on the 4.3L VIN W and X. On the 4.3L info i saw that VIN X has 10 less HP. I'm starting to look at some Blazers, preferably the ZR2 2-Door 2002+. The pickup is fine, but would really like a 6cyl engine, and 4x4. 2. what's a fair price for a 2003-2004 ZR2 (most have about 30-50K miles) mike1224 07-01-2006, 03:21 PM haha, work is so retarded. im scheduled 2p-10:30p today as a checker, then scheduled 8p-5:30a as the frozen foods guy. s10blazerman4x4 07-01-2006, 04:00 PM Mechanic is bypassing the heater core on the cutlass. Apparently what had happened was that heater core blew up then i guess it was building pressure and shooting it back out overflow and into car. he is still going to use the K&W stuff he got and what not should have that monday, i have to call the lady down there and what not to check in with her. Mike thats retarded lol but im in at 6AM tommorow, 7am Monday,6Am Tuesday. Getting a 51 hr check on Thursday. mike1224 07-02-2006, 09:11 AM lol. i knew about this on Friday, but decided to wait to tell them. I ended up going to work at 2p, talked to the boss, and told her i'd rather do the n/c shift. im out 8 hrs for (last) week though. s10blazerman4x4 07-02-2006, 05:30 PM Just got back from the lot went to scope out before tommorow. Got 2 in mind. either a 96 blazer w 80k or a 97 blazer w 157k. The 96 is 6k wout service package and warranty 7k with and the 97 is 3k. Im actually leaning towards the 97 even though i know of the issues i figure it has probally been serviced for some of them issues. Gonna run carfax on it as i got the Vin and its a W motor. Did CPI end in 95? I think it should be a SFI motor. There both blue and 4 doors. The one im looking at has no trailer hitch but has got the button for the fog lights inside but no fog lights because they were aftermarket. Some scratches here and there on it but NO RUST AND THAT MAKE SHAWN HAPPY. Plus i think im leaning towards the 97 just because its 3k should be able to do no down payment and co signor and can probally have it paid off next year or early the year after. Well im off to carfax/ research this thing and im gonna call the lady tommorow down there to see whats up/ s10blazerman4x4 07-02-2006, 05:45 PM 1996 Carfax ok fleet vehicle since 01 with 24.5k miles as fleet. 1997 Carfax ok first owner 8 years avg 17k per year since then 13k miles 2 other owners. blazee 07-05-2006, 06:51 AM http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/bunny-mutilator-jailed/2006/07/03/1151778857609.html Rabbit mutilator jailed A Sydney financier has been jailed for 16 months for "the worst case" of aggravated cruelty against animals. Brendan Francis McMahon, 37, of Tamarama, will have to spend at least 12 months in jail for his torture, mutilation, and alleged sexual offences against 17 rabbits and a guinea pig. The magistrate, Ian Barnett, said a strong message should be sent to the community that people such as McMahon could not escape responsibility for their actions by the fact they were psychotic at the time. "In my view this is one of the worst case scenarios of aggravated cruelty to animals," he said. He accepted McMahon had a lifelong cannabis addiction and, before and during the offences against the animals, had a $125 a day addiction to methamphetamine (also known as ice). "In my view there is community outrage at this matter and someone should not be allowed to commit such offences of aggravated cruelty against animals and say 'Well I had been using ice at the time. I have been taking cannabis most of my life.' "My view is ... this is not acceptable." The dead or dying animals, some skinned, were allegedly found in and around McMahon's York Street office between July and early August last year. McMahon ran a financial planning and mortgage brokerage, Meares-McMahon Capital, with Jason Meares, the brother of the swimsuit designer Jodhi Meares, former wife of James Packer. http://www.smh.com.au/ffximage/2006/03/07/mcmahon_narrowweb__300x522,0.jpg mike1224 07-05-2006, 09:28 AM isn't there better things he could be spending time doing? If someone can goto www.summitracing.com and confirm this part number as what is needed for an 01 Blazer it would be kool. Part number ENS-3-5190R He needs Front Sway Bar Bushings, Front Pads and Rotors and he has a nail in the one tire that has to get plugged ASAP. He apparently has rear disc brakes yet his RPO do not list his rear end as having that unless it came as stock in 01s. I didnt think that engine was in the 88 year as i thought it had the 2.8. I did get the VIN from the dealer and it came back good and i ran KBB on it. It has 161k miles but has 3 month warranty. He wants 2695 to finance it which is 550/650 down 200 month and it be payed off in a year. Im thinking of going down driving it and seeing if i can get it down because the KBB is 2200 on that year truck with the options it has. mike1224 07-18-2006, 12:55 AM i saw a ZR2 at the lot that my gramps works at. its a little older than I wanted, don't know milage yet. get the info tomorrow. what I do know is 2000 chev Blazer ZR2, lite blue, all power, and a sunroof. with the vin W engine. s10blazerman4x4 07-18-2006, 11:26 AM You care to send me the VIN so i can run that Michael? mike1224 07-18-2006, 01:15 PM i'll probably get the vin sometime today from grampy. im just hoping that if its a good price, i can get financing. Eric s10blazerman4x4 07-22-2006, 10:48 AM I dont know thats what he told me but he is under investigation from Ebay right now according to the email they sent me. The current high bidder is listed as NY and from what i found out is either him or his wife because look at the sellers feedback and you will see he sold Jeeps and jeep parts in the past so what i surmised was that he was using that ID to push the price up to his reserve that way either I or the other guy that was interested would get it unloaded on us for higher than reserve. See he would know lets say bidder X max bid is 1k and current bid is lets say 550 well he would have this "lindajeep" push it to the 1k even though lets say his reserve his only 550. I notified the other bidder and he sent me an email back thanking for the heads up, so i dont know why ebay hasnt yet pulled the listing or they dont do that till the investigation is complete./ blazee 07-22-2006, 10:56 AM Yeah it looks fishy. The only items that "LindaJeep" bid on were the ones that "FreddyandLinda" were selling. s10blazerman4x4 07-22-2006, 11:53 AM Yeh blazee i studied that thing the other night for like an hour and a half and only after i sent him an email asking about some items on the truck did this lindajeep start to bid. To me there are too many coincidentals going on and also this member is listed only as NY and as being a member since March. blazee 07-22-2006, 11:58 AM Did you see this other item from the same seller? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320004053593 Check out the bidder list: http://offer.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=320004053593 s10blazerman4x4 07-22-2006, 12:33 PM Yeh i did blazee, i actually included in my complaint to ebay those links and stated about how the reserve all the sudden drops towards the end of auction and he either gets his price or above that. The guy who sold it to us works with my dad, it was his dads and they put him in a nursing home because at 80 years old he couldnt drive no more. He owned it from 92 till now and only drove 3500 miles a year. The interior is beautiful and the motor tranny are all up to spec. It had one breakdown in its life and that was for a bad battery, other than that the oil was changed every 3k at the Ford Dealer and any service it needed was done by Ford. I had my friends dad look it over and he gave it a green light. All fluids are like new condition. It has some rust one nasty spot on the door that just started and the old man tried to do some body work on it by spraying gray paint on over the white so thats my first priority. I paid 800 bucks and am pleased for my first ford. Got some ideas in mind like 3" body lift, traction bars, add a leaf, see whats out there front springs in the neighborhood of an 1" higher, a pair of PaceSetter headers with the y pipe a Duramax cat back system should be good. Also i may be wrong but for the most part i am going to try to just use Ford parts on it for the tuneup, oil change and what not. Ill be using aftermarket stuff for the main stuff that would go wrong. Also i might have not mentioned it but it has a 2.9V6, i have no idea what tranny as im not a ford boy lol so i gotta get on that but they have some nice stuff out there if its what i think it might be. It has a 195/70/14 tire rim combo now i hate the rims. I was perusing some ranger sites and can slap some 4x4 15x7 rims on there with a nice 235x75x15 tire so i am working towards that after the body lift and add a leaf. It also has a camper top which i would take off but cant because i have no where to store it at my house so its staying on plus with having 3 grown boys in the cab for school in the fall and winter ill need to keep our stuff dry and thatll work great. It has a double plastic bedliner which is nice. Anywho enough ramblings i gotta find some stuff for it and do some more research. Oh i spent about 25 bucks at walmart today for lifetime balance rotation mounting, new valve stems, and disposal of old tires because since the tires were the same size as the car i threw the 2 i didnt sell yet from the car onto the front of the truck because the old man hit a spike on one of his last trips with the truck and the tire had a big flap hanging on the sidewall. you can tell he liked it old school the wheels and the whitewalls say it all lol. So anywho ill stop rambling again. mike1224 07-30-2006, 08:48 PM has anyone seen Stu around, or did the diesel conversion get the better of him? muzzy1maniac 07-30-2006, 11:01 PM Anywho guys got the above issue solved. Good luck Shawn, the truck sounds great. I recently added a 98 2wd Ranger to the family too - my first ford also. Here's a good sight I found with a ton of info in their tech section.... http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/index.php?showforum=41 s10blazerman4x4 07-31-2006, 06:41 AM http://www.stangsuspension.com/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=268 Yeh i got that one do you have http://www.rangerpowersports.com/forum/ ? Right now the database is down but its a great site. Also with the one you gave there is great info on it in the tech site. I want that first link for the uh ranger lol. Oh man guys slept great got up went to the bathroom came back to sit down now got incredible back pain to the paint i cant move. I took 2 advil but its going to be a long day of lifting at work, muzzy1maniac 07-31-2006, 11:07 AM http://www.stangsuspension.com/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=268 Yeh i got that one do you have http://www.rangerpowersports.com/forum/ ? I really dont know what happened muzzy. I got up took a leak then felt this damn pain. Here is plan: Correct me if i am wrong 1.5" Taller Coil Springs Front 1.5"-2" Add a leaf in the rear 0-2" stock to taller shocks in rear traction bars and the posi for the rear 3" body lift so it meets with the suspension Gap Guards Bumper Relocators and some body/cab mounts for that I think thats all of it. muzzy1maniac 08-01-2006, 02:43 PM s10blazerman4x4 08-01-2006, 02:47 PM Lol mike gave that to me awhile ago. Personally HP can goto hell. This run around for a monitor that is lost in there system is BS. I called the phone number they gave me this morning after confirming with the company that arranges for Fedex to pick up packages that indeed the package had shipped and that i was to check with them. I call HP and they tell me we got the shipment but it has been lost in there facilities. Someone can goto hell. This guy on the email support he can go there too because he is giving me a run around telling me to call FedEx and get tracking numbers. I asked HP for them and he said we have them and there not necessary. muzzy1maniac 08-01-2006, 03:04 PM Yeh i got that one do you have http://www.rangerpowersports.com/forum/ ? Right now the database is down but its a great site. Thanks! I added it to my list. muzzy1maniac 08-01-2006, 03:14 PM Here's something some will apreciate... Like some, I work for a grocery chain. I started in the stores - went corporate for a while - then to distribution. We'll now I'm headed back to the stores. I got fed up with the stress and lack of support in distribution. Stress so bad that I've been out for the last 2 months on disability. I though dist might be a cool place to work because of all the different areas. What I found was that not a single person was happy and nothing interested me. So what do I do? After 19 years and very little schooling I decided to look at the stores again. Along with the stores comes lower pay though. I took a shot anyway. Well, the store I applied at took 3 weeks to get back to me with an offer - and what an offer! They will take me at my current pay! That along with 40 miles less driving a day = a pay increase!!! My HR department was blown away- they've never seen pay as high as mine kept. I'll be making more than the asisstant and pretty close to the manager!! I just thought I'd share - since I am rejoining the ranks of the disgruntled stockboys. :smokin: mike1224 08-01-2006, 04:37 PM hahha, i was the disgruntled milk guy today, and tomorrow too. 5am-130pm. The company also ended up sending some guys from the division office to help me since the Out of stocks were high (over a hundred, they want less than 10). Im thinking since they'll be there tomorrow to help too, that we'll get the dairy back to a nice organized, and FULL department, for the other guy and gal to mess up all over again. I was so mad this morning because the first 6-wheeler (basically a hand truck on its back, and extra wheels) I took on the floor to stock with was the one I put together on SUNDAY. then there were 3 pallets, which shoulda already been broken down, sorted, and on 6-wheelers. Just wish that the main manager was there to see how the division guys and I cleaned up that place. hopefully my closer will finish the 2 6-wheelers I left. muzzy1maniac 08-01-2006, 04:58 PM I'm sure you'll have somthing left over to do tomorrow. Good help is hard to find. It sure feels good to rock the place and leave it spit shined!! s10blazerman4x4 08-01-2006, 05:05 PM Lol thatll be me tomm Mike> I got the produce department on load day because upper management in store thought we had to go cut hours even though we were told were ahead of last years sales. So i get a good 4-7 pallet truck, the floor, and any supervisors that show up. Ill be disgruntled produce boy tommorow. s10blazerman4x4 08-01-2006, 06:09 PM The Peons at HP must be scared or finally realize that i am pissed off with this customer service lol. So i get a good 4-7 pallet truck, the floor, and any supervisors that show up. Ill be disgruntled produce boy tommorow. How big are your guys stores?? It sounds like they are pretty small since you're always bouncing from department to department. s10blazerman4x4 08-01-2006, 08:29 PM i work at redners now they got a site somewhere in space lol mike1224 08-01-2006, 08:55 PM its fairly decent sized, I've got about 80 people in the store I work at. hear of Safeway? also known as Carrs, Tom Thumb, Dominick's, Pavilions, Randalls, Genuardi's, Vons s10blazerman4x4 08-01-2006, 09:04 PM I'm not sure how many but i would say about 45-65 people maybe a few more. Muzzy did u check out carsurvey reviews? http://www.carsurvey.org/ There is the link. I didnt get a chance to check the reviews on your 98 but the ones on my 90 were all good to go. muzzy1maniac 08-01-2006, 09:22 PM Our old stores(Wegmans) average about 80000 sq ft and have about 100 employees. The new designs run in the 130,000+sq ft range and have a ton more people. The big store are awsome but the small ones are nicer to work at cause you know more of the people. Shawn, I'll check that out in the morning. s10blazerman4x4 08-01-2006, 09:47 PM So what grocery chain you rocking now Muzzy? Oh by the way a quick glance of the reviews and there about 18/19 for a big thumbs up. muzzy1maniac 08-02-2006, 11:15 AM I'm still with Wegmans - I find it hard to leave after 19 years! Also, my other major choice would be Tops(AssHold). I don't think so... LOL! I checked out the reviews - look pretty good! I really like the truck. I think it drives a ton better than my old s10 and my Blazer. The guy I got it from had all the paperwork and really took care of it. We'll see how long it lasts with my kid behind the wheel! mike1224 08-05-2006, 02:20 AM hey guys, started the heater core, then had to head off to work, Pa thought he could finish, but cannot find the two blots holding the steering column that are NOT pictures in Haynes manual. because of this, dash will not tilt yet, giving access to the core. This is really important, considering I have no transortation in the mean time (ok, so its been since 10am Friday, But thats too long for me to be without wheels). Not that its un-needed, but walking to/from work at the moment. I guess that he called a local shop, and was told "since the dash is already partially taken off, we'll charge you 400, instead of 600. im gonna have a buddy head over there tomorrow while im workin, to take care of stuff. Its been many years since he did a heatercore (it was a 77 chev p/u) and back then he said that it wasn't IN the dash, but in the bay, covered up, with easy access. I would like to get this done, since well I miss my dime, and freedom to drive at any moment I please. Also a co-worker was telling me that there were some blazers that came factory with the 5.7, is that right? model years 1999-2004? s10blazerman4x4 08-05-2006, 12:02 PM Lol you would be dying then while i was without wheels. Well i was too lol. ANywho i highly doubt that they did because everyone would be driving a V8 blazerrrrrrrrrr. Up in NY mike1224 08-06-2006, 12:19 AM grrrrr, still no fix. IM considering paying someone to finish this off. This is ridiculous (sp?). I feel like a 10year old, asking mom and dad for a ride somewhere. Problem is that it takes 10 minutes for them to get from their place to mine. My buddy and I got most everything off, need to take off where the blower is, then we should be able to take off the plastic piece covering the HC. Finally done!!! well not quite yet, "some" assembly required. s10blazerman4x4 08-06-2006, 08:36 PM Im back lol Has anyone seen Talladega Nights? It has to be one of the funniest movies ever. "Thank you 8lb 9oz baby jesus" Lol Got a ? how come i can be saving images and then one will come up that is a bitmap but in the address bar it ends in .jpg? I got around this by emailing them to myself and saving them accordingly. Also with that is there a program that converts the bitmaps to jpg for free. This trial program i have is good but i want free. blazee 08-07-2006, 12:51 PM That movie looked pretty good. I usually wait til they come out on DVD to watch them though. If you're using firefox, try dragging the images to the desktop. mike1224 08-07-2006, 02:13 PM Dad started calling around, and found a mechanic willing to come over and finish this job. I really hate paying someone to do this, because of the cost. He's gonna either be able to come over Monday or Tuesday. $83/hr for about 5-6hrs approx. This is what I was figuring anyways. DAMMIT I want my truck, This is why i want to buy another vehicle, so im not stranded. s10blazerman4x4 08-07-2006, 03:22 PM Do u wanna drive that truck to PA and have my 30/hr mechanic do it? Im on IE i gotta go do some more googling on the subject. That movie is so funny going to see it this weekend again. mike1224 08-07-2006, 03:55 PM lol shawn, only way to move the truck right now, is on a flatbed. I haven't heard from the guy yet, and its near 2pm, so im assuming that its gonna be tomorrow till it gets fixed. s10blazerman4x4 08-08-2006, 01:13 PM WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO The BS continues with HP. I emailed last night to see where my 48 hour response was and i got one this morning finally. Guess what? Were back to square freaking one. I for about the 9-15th time have to tell these people what day i recieved the monitor, what day i recieved the box, and what day it went out. Whats great is i tell these people that on July 4th-5th i was on vacation i returned home on the 6th the monitor arrived that day. I dropped it off on the 10th but the company that ships doesnt ship out till next day so try July 11th/ and these clowns already told me it was lost in there system. Anger going through the top of the scale. mike1224 08-09-2006, 04:05 PM after not having time to goto my folks house in a few days, im heading there today, hoping to have my truck tonight. My dad was telling me that the workers ended up breaking the parking brake release, so im gonna try to tackle that focker after i get it drivable. lol, I ended up getting sunburnt yesterday walking to work. its been a day, and still feeling the heat on my face. \ shawn, whats HP's issue? just simple, stupid, or retarded? s10blazerman4x4 08-09-2006, 04:17 PM shawn, whats HP's issue? just simple, stupid, or retarded? All of the above commander. Lol sunburnt, well if they broke your cable and you payed 83/hr i think i knock that down to 30/hr its going to take money to fix. mike1224 08-10-2006, 04:13 AM All of the above commander. Lol sunburnt, well if they broke your cable and you payed 83/hr i think i knock that down to 30/hr its going to take money to fix. money to fix, and have to take stuff parts off the truck again . suppose i'll finish up tomrrow. Its been the longest 6 days w/o trasportation. Thinking i'll put on 50-75 miles after I get it put back together, just since i missed driving so much. Theres no reason that it shoulda taken this long, but working with dad gets real stressful. s10blazerman4x4 08-10-2006, 09:33 PM http://unitedstatesamericanflags.com/images/rebel_flag_reaper.jpg Whats the opinion on the above? http://www.vaed.uscourts.gov/notablecases/moussaoui/exhibits/prosecution.html Anybody see that yet. I think the link was released last week, it deals w 9/11 trial and what not, some graphic stuff on that. mike1224 08-10-2006, 10:00 PM get it, I really enjoyed getting inked. somewhat enjoyable, just sitting there. or at least for me, once i get more $$, I'd like to get more stuff done s10blazerman4x4 08-11-2006, 09:43 AM mike in the calmest voice i could i told HP off and a brand new 15" LCD monitor is coming my way in 2 days overnight by air. The kicker for them was when i told them that i had been told about 10 days ago that it had reached there facilities but was lost. She goes "Oh, well if i can put you on hold for a few minutes and i will arrange for a new monitor to be there shortly." Score one for the little person. Only took from June 20 or so when the original died to get this new one now in August. Started my complaint on July 27 and here we are August 11 and also am going to get brand new cables. Oh by the way it went to the case managers. So maybe just maybe ill be rocking a dual monitor setup early next week. mike1224 08-14-2006, 01:55 AM hey guys, this is about 15years older than I want but I like the power behind that truck. http://www.rockysautosinc.com/cgi-bin/detail.php?id=65586&mk=Chevrolet&mo=Blazer#detl s10blazerman4x4 08-14-2006, 02:35 PM Since d/l firefox i have not been able to keep my internet connection for more than an hour. It started last nite and has been doing it constantly. Anybody know what to look for? I ran spybot and nothing and i did a registry cleaner and there was nothing in there either. Also muzzy i came across tihs site. http://www.perrysfabnfiber.com/Ford/Ranger/89-92/ They have some stuff for your year truck.Has anyone ever used fiberglass parts before? They seem to have really good prices as in 400/pair on bedsides and 300/pair on fenders. They also have conversions to make the front end look like the newer ones. I mite look into that if its not to detail oriented. It seems to come with the fenders hood and bumpers but i am not sure if stock lights are used or junkyard ones. Also anyone have some reviews on CHevron Techron fuel cleaner? I read it was really good stuff and i paid 10 bucks today for a bottle. I wanna put it in and see if it helps out till i get the money for the tuneup.I have an issue where all symptons point to tune up as the log book in the truck tells me the following: Plugs 1996 29k ago Wires the above Fuel Filter 1994 PCV 2004 Oil Change sometime this year its due in about 700 miles He had some injectors replaced in 96 Also had the oil pan gasket replaced. But im hoping if tihs stuff is as good as they say itll give me a few more weeks as fuel mileage is attrocious. 90 miles and im like an inch from half tank. muzzy1maniac 08-14-2006, 05:13 PM Since d/l firefox i have not been able to keep my internet connection for more than an hour. Thanks Shawn - cool site but a little too knarley for me. I've used the Chevron stuff before and don't have any complaints. I always thought the engine ran a little better after. The price is kinda ugly though. I haven't used it in a couple of years but I remember paying $6-7 for it back then. s10blazerman4x4 08-14-2006, 05:26 PM Yeh thats what i thought. I thought it said it was 6.99 and it rang up 9.99 so when im in there on Friday for brake fluid again ill check. I added a quarter bottle to compensate for the line thats leaking out back. I found a pic of a guy who did the conversion on his 90 to a 97 and they include fenders hood bumper and lights. Pretty much everything to do it and he added the bedsides in the rear for good measure and all the lines look good. http://www.desertrides.com/photo/your_rides/ride.php?id=23 The link/ s10blazerman4x4 08-15-2006, 12:32 PM Hey can anyone tell me how to make ATI Catalyst detect second monitor? Ive been following there instructions and its not detecting. I did get the monitor and cables from HP but still have to go buy an audio cable because there nitwits. Anywho im going to switch the cables. I have the main monitor plugged into the graphics card and the HP in the original monitor plug connection. Thinking i am going to swap them around and see. s10blazerman4x4 08-15-2006, 04:19 PM I have some computer issues/errors maybe some one can give me a lead on. I did some google searching but am getting no where. Here are the errors. The following appear on shutdown: SW.AcroRd32.exe it is trying to access memory it is not there Something about NetBroadcast1.1 endprogram.sw THe one about netbroadcast might be something with the ATI Catalyst Control Center? I also have a dwwin.exe error message After i restarted i went and started to look around i also have this When i go Start run and type in regedit it tells me that it is not a valid win32 system app but i can type regedit.com and regedit.exe and it works? The above error also came when i went to PC Tools HP reinstall software that came with computer, it would not allow me to reinstall. Also i have a Runner Error (updates from HP.exe) lacks a '-' (the ap id separator) Also had other problems today when i went to start the HP Image Zone it always has worked now today it is looking for a file from a disc. This is how i became aware of the above file issue. So any ideas on where to start? Im starting to get annoyed with these errors along w the memory error i have had since i bought the computer when shutting down w the wireless linksys adapter trying to reference memory that is not there. That one existed even after i took it down to ground zero. EDIT EDIT EDIT FOR THE HP Runner issue it appears spybot destroyed some stuff that is listed as spyware from HP and i am going to try a system restore and see if it fixes it. EDIT EDIT EDIT For WUSB54G4v.exe referenced memory at such a point and could not read the memory there error which i get 2 of from googling i see i mite have to replace the RAM as the other steps that are listed no work. Also system restore did not work. Lol BlazerBoyLT98 08-16-2006, 05:10 PM Guess what guys and gals??? I am a married man come next friday. Is it normal to be shitting your pants??? ;) s10blazerman4x4 08-16-2006, 05:17 PM How long have you known? Lol you never told me but i thought something was up when i saw your myspace today. Today i went and investigated for a lack of better term and found massive quanties of water under passenger carpet. Here is the problem, i looked under the truck and there is no rust holes. Second i felt the headliner and its dry. I checked all door rubber and its dry and there appears to be no where it could come in. Im thinking of taking off the wiper cowl and seeing if them drains are plugged. But here is the real stickler. The guy before me must have had the issue too because on both driver and passenger sides at the door sill guard he cut the rubber flooring i guess to dry it out. So i just kinda faciliatated that enough because there was a huge puddle on passenger side floor board under the rubber flooring and the mat under that. So does anybody got ideas? I checked everything inside and didnt see where it would come in. I think the cowl will come off just for security but i dont know how best to dry it up becuz i dont wanna cut a big section of the floor rubber out. mike1224 08-24-2006, 12:05 PM lost my friggin glasses last night at work. I was working the frozen section again, and a pallet fell over in the freezer. So I took some stocking carts intothe freezer where my glasses began to fog up. As I felt safer not having my glasses on at the time, I took them off, so I could see w/o fog. skip ahead 1/2 hr when mess gets cleaned up, can't find glasses. Spent quite a while looking, but nada. told the recieving clerk that if any glasses are found in the freezer, there probably mine. Heading down to LensCrafters now to buy new pair. Gotta pay out of pocket, my insurance allows glasses every 2 years, and that'll be in 5-6months. This is the money I was planning on using for a 20" widescreen for the comp. Im guessing the glasses will show up a few days after I pay for new ones. also got a new AMP. 2400Watts. shoot that focker hits nicely, right now only have 1000Watts going to it, but im still very satisfied. muzzy1maniac 08-24-2006, 12:57 PM lost my friggin glasses last night at work. Why is it that most frozen workers have glasses?? All these years and I still find it kinda funny when they come stumblin out of the freezer. Too bad about loosing them though. Next time you go to work they'll be on the desk waiting for you. I just got done putting in some componant speakers today. Now I need to go for a ride and see if I like them! s10blazerman4x4 08-24-2006, 08:09 PM Don't forget us produce workers, Got a ? Im looking at shocks and i dont know what to go with. Im stuck between KYB GasaJusts or the Superlift Superrides. Thing where i get confused is i am going to lift the truck suspension wise 1.5". To do this i am going with the 1.5-2.5" add a leaf lift in the rear coupled with lift coils in the front. I like the KYBs because they are a really stiff shock but on Summit when i goto amount raised and i select 0-2" it only gives me the Superlifts, so i am not sure that the KYBs will work. I am getting the leaf and the rear shocks done first, followed by the front springs and shocks. mike1224 08-24-2006, 11:02 PM Why is it that most frozen workers have glasses?? Next time you go to work they'll be on the desk waiting for you. i dunno why most frozen clerks wear glasses, on the night crew at my store, all 6 of 7 employees wear glasses. Lol i like the stumbling too, just when its not me. I know I'll find the glasses since i spent most of the morning getting new glasses. muzzy1maniac 08-25-2006, 11:19 AM Speakers sound great! They're pyle 6.5" componant - I know not the best brand but for $32 I gave it a shot!! What a difference in bass over stock and they're crystal clear. mike1224 08-25-2006, 04:59 PM Speakers sound great! They're pyle 6.5" componant - I know not the best brand but for $32 I gave it a shot!! What a difference in bass over stock and they're crystal clear.did you replace all speakers?? obviously the ones in the dash look very simple to take out and replace, but what about the ones in the door panel? Speakers have been on my list for a little while now, but they keep getting put lower on the list. muzzy1maniac 08-25-2006, 05:13 PM I don't think there are any in the dash. I just replced the front doors and added the seperate tweeter. These are them - I got money off cause I signed up for the credit card. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007LCLPE/sr=1-2/qid=1156540303/ref=sr_1_2/002-3553746-6707250?ie=UTF8&s=electronics mike1224 08-25-2006, 05:29 PM maybe the ones in the dash are for the p/u since theres not really anywhere else to put them. muzzy1maniac 08-25-2006, 09:04 PM It's funny, there is grates on the dash but I think they're empty. Someday I'll pull one for the fun of it. s10blazerman4x4 08-26-2006, 04:46 PM Finally runnin dual monitors hoes lol/ Got the right adapter finally today in the mail. So far i can not attach the adapter into the graphics card well it is attached but the pins are not connected and tight. I am on extended display but icons are only one screen. Mike you will need to walk me through this. ALso worked 10hrs 15 mins today no lunch just the 15 min paid break and i worked around 10 hrs yesterday. Almost got 44 in this week. Thank god boss is back this week, but still got 40 and 24 at school to do. s10blazerman4x4 08-27-2006, 05:47 PM Son of a %%^&*^%%^$*$*$%&^T^&%#) Effin thing leaks. Its the windshield. Its all wet up in the right hand corner of the headliner and it must be going down the A pillar and under the carpet. Its also leaking on the drivers side but i havent found it yet its still effin raining and i have a puddle. Does anyone know if a plastic windshield seal can be replaced or do you have to get a whole new thing for it?? s10blazerman4x4 08-27-2006, 06:59 PM What do you guys think? 209.32 plus tax from safelite to replace the front windshield. It says that all applicable parts and labor are included. To me that is the seal, the windshield, and the labor. If anybody knows if that is a good price let me know.Im thinking it is. I got 2 big chips in the glass and wouldnt mind taking care of 2 birds with one stone. The last windshield seal i replaced was 91.00 and that was for the Blazer. billibong 08-27-2006, 08:01 PM Sounds to me like they are replacing the windshield and the seal. I would say that's a pretty good price. s10blazerman4x4 08-27-2006, 08:09 PM Yeh there is a charge of 56 dollars for any mouldings it would need beyond the seal which with my truck being a 90 is probally going to happen. I emailed them to see if i can have my pap execute financials on my behalf as there only open to 4 and if they would come down i wouldnt be here due to work or school. s10blazerman4x4 08-28-2006, 06:44 PM There going to come between 8 and 12 Thursday morning. I authorized my pap to take care of it. 213 plus 67 for any mouldings now apparently.Anywho still a good deal. muzzy1maniac 08-29-2006, 11:43 AM Off to see Toby Keith tonight at the state fair!!! It's gonna be ugly getting up for work in the moring. s10blazerman4x4 08-29-2006, 06:05 PM Have fun muzzy. A lady i work with went to Hershey Sunday nite in the rain and loved it, i would have loved to gone. Got a call from Safelite, my quote of 213 and change is now 177.72 installed with windshield. billibong 08-30-2006, 04:41 PM Hey Shawn - Where in the H... is Orwigsburg in PA?? I am moving this weekend to Latimore Township, a little south of Harrisburg between Dillsburg and York Springs on US 15. It is only about 35 minutes North of where I am now, but a whole world away in cost and atmosphere (for the better). bill s10blazerman4x4 08-30-2006, 04:55 PM Idk how familiar you are with the area north of Harrisburg but if you go north on 81 to where it splits to I78 take that to Cabelas which is Hamburg exit get off there go north about 15 mins just past deer lake. We have a Harley Davidson outside of town. Im about 30 mins north of Reading, 10 mins south of Pottsville. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searchtype=address&country=US&addtohistory=&searchtab=home&formtype=address&popflag=0&latitude=&longitude=&name=&phone=&level=&cat=&address=&city=&state=&zipcode=17961 EDIT SOn of a gun Lynn Swann is going to be at the Yuengling brewery in pottsville tommorow and i wont be able to make it because of getting home from class too late. balls_to_the_wall 09-04-2006, 10:19 AM Just curious, is OBP still poking around and hows his diesel conversion going, anyone know?? Now I have to do more work to find my favorite threads! Blazee - I'll take the Honda! A while back there was a thread asking for ideas to organize the forum, most people suggested dividing things up into different subforums. Now that we have a full time admin to take care of such things, I requested the new forums. I also had them linked to all the other S-series forums so that now people from the less active forums can get help too, and we can combine all the info together. These forums are linked between Blazer, Bravada, Jimmy, S-10, and Sonoma. blazee 09-18-2006, 03:59 PM http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/Music/09/18/willie.busted.ap/index.html Still kickin it like in the old days. Gotta love that guy. mike1224 09-18-2006, 04:16 PM not even sure if its chatter anymore. maybe an ocassional chirp. blazee 09-18-2006, 04:20 PM not even sure if its chatter anymore. maybe an ocassional chirp. Well, now the 4 of us have a whole forum. :grinyes: Hopefully others will join in now that everything's not jammed into one thread. It would be nice to get to know everyone. billibong 09-18-2006, 08:33 PM I like the new look and feel of the Forums. But, it did take me a while to find the "off-topic" stuff. Getting slow in my old age i guess. mike1224 09-18-2006, 10:15 PM Anyone who said There Is No Such Thing As A Stupid Question never worked in a grocery store! ain't that the truth. I just love it when I get put on a checkstand where customers have been too violent with the PIN PAD, (its where they slide club card and payment cards) "did you know theres lines on here?" NAAWWWW, only hear that about 100 times a day, thanks for informing, I seem to have forgotten io the last two minutes, since someone else told me the SAME EXACT FRIGGIN THING. random enuff?? What other jobs do people in this form have?? s10blazerman4x4 09-19-2006, 04:28 PM Got an issue can someone help truck is parked along side of road. Made a right hand turn and without warning lost all power engine shut off and i coasted off to the side. I secured the contents inside. I have spark, good battery, and no loose connections. It is getting fuel. It will run for a second then die. I had a guy stop to help me and he said there is a half moon shape piece of metal in the distributor and that was his problem on the 2.9. Any ideas trying to avoid towing. s10blazerman4x4 09-19-2006, 08:35 PM Have learned from tow truck driver and mechanic that engine is spinning too fast for it to turn over. Were all stumped so this is great. s10blazerman4x4 09-20-2006, 05:23 PM It was the fuel pump. Interesting but me and a few others have our dollar on that its also related to the truck running like crap when cold and occassionally having to stomp it to get it to move. mike1224 09-21-2006, 08:14 AM well guys, after trying several weight loss products, I took shawns lead and started Hydroxycut Hardcore, along with Censor, between the both, I am burning lots of fat. The only issue, is that im not sleeping as well. I'veread that this is a side effect, since there is i believe 280mg caffiene per pill, and currrently taking 3 pills twice daily. Shawn, did you notice some sleep deprivation??? on the plus side im down 11lbs in about 10 days s10blazerman4x4 09-21-2006, 10:36 AM No but i did notice i would crash if i didnt take them. mike1224 09-21-2006, 02:40 PM the only thing that I can think of, is to take the pills earlier, b/c the caffiene. but hell, i used to down a DEW before bed, I thought that had tons of caffiene. s10blazerman4x4 09-21-2006, 08:33 PM If you take the hardcore 5hrs before bed prepare to stay up all night. Im down to 209. Paid mechanic 245 for fuel pump and 4hrs labor and it runs lots better. mike1224 09-21-2006, 08:42 PM If you take the hardcore 5hrs before bed prepare to stay up all night.wow. sometimes at work, i don't get a meal break till 9pm. fmaybe i'll work something out with them. muzzy1maniac 09-23-2006, 08:43 PM wow. sometimes at work, i don't get a meal break till 9pm. fmaybe i'll work something out with them. Wow, that doesn't help the weight thing any. I hate eating that late cause I know it's not getting burnt off. Take it from a fat guy! :icon16: mike1224 09-24-2006, 01:32 AM Wow, that doesn't help the weight thing any. I hate eating that late cause I know it's not getting burnt off. Take it from a fat guy! :icon16:well, i get off at 1am, so there should be some time for stuff to wear off, but it doesn't seem to be. s10blazerman4x4 09-24-2006, 04:13 PM Just dont take it at night take the other one and see what happens. mike1224 09-26-2006, 02:46 PM went 2 nights w/o taking it late, finally have a decent sleeping pattern back. yesterday got woken up by safeway twice. First time was to see if I would come in and work 1:30pm-10pm, instead of 4:30p-1:00am. I'm kinda like WTF. i had bid 2:00p-10:30p, NOT 4:30-1:00, I tell her sure, i'd come in early. Maybe 2 hours later, the Assistant Mgr calls me back, then asking if I can come in at 4:30-1:00. Thats when I freak out, tell her that I bid for 2-10:30, and how was I scheduled 4:30-1?? She looks at the bid sheet for that week, and tells me that a head clerk changed it, so this other girl, with MUCH less senority could have it. The thing that gets me, is that this head clerk does this for that one employee all the time, but this is the first time its been noticed by upper management. I doubt anything will happen, punishment wise, but at least they know what she's been doing. muzzy1maniac 09-26-2006, 05:32 PM Are you union? Can you file a grievence? mike1224 09-27-2006, 03:56 AM yeh im union. the only thing about filing a grievance right now is that since I did still get an earlier shift it would be pointless. theres about 2 other people than myself that have been having a problem with this same individual. I hate to be so picky about a shift, but I have invested a lot more time into the company than she has. this november will be 5 years. i think she might have 2-3 years with safeway. s10blazerman4x4 09-27-2006, 07:15 PM Lol got dad today to buy a 91 S10 Blazer 2 door was red they painted it silver 4.3 4x4 TBI.I gotto drive her home oh man steering is so so tight. I'd love to meat him and check out his buddy's car - or maybe his mom!:naughty::pimp: mike1224 10-02-2006, 03:15 PM rofl. im not sure what parts made me laugh more. beating an enzo?? is he talking about the old man??? alblogg 10-02-2006, 04:52 PM Yeah I wonder if his Mom has big boobs and I had one of 'em cars that ran on alcohol one time, not the rubbin' the drinkin' kind. mike1224 10-04-2006, 03:35 AM gramps thinks his detailer will be able to fix the damage to the door. also saw the Zr2 blazer there still. talked to gramps about it, and am deeply considering it. its in nice condition, 2000 ls light blue w/ power all, sunroof, and what I like the most :4x4 and v6. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
