I was talking with a guy in work about engine swaps in Honda's. He's owned 17 Honda's and Acura's; Integra, Civic etc., and he's done work on each one he had, so I consider him pretty knowledgeable. Anyways, we were talking about this and that, and I mentioned (enter wavy daydream lines) that I'd someday like to swap out my f22b for an H22a. He said that that would indeed be a cool swap, but that I should consider instead going with the Type-R engine, because it has an even higher output, and it is about the same price. I think he said it was an H20a or something? Does anyone know the exact #? (My google search is turning up a bunch of garbage)

there is no H20 engine.
in Europe type R Accord has H22A engines
in Japan Euro-R has H22A engine, but SiR Accord comes with two engines to choose H22A and F20B.

ok, sorry, i hate replying too much, but so far, the Type R does have an H22A for a fact, but I dont know what the SiR-T has, but it is not any type of an F-series engine. the F20B is a 4th gen accord Lx motor.

hey, a friend of mine was telling me just the other day about the type R engine swap, hes from toronto, and he says he knows some people who are doing it, i have a 91 accord lx right now that im doing up seeing as its the last generation of accord before they got really big, but they still look decent:) HE said the type R engine, or i think he referred to it as the accord SIRt engine puts out 230 hp, as compared to the H22 which puts out 190hp, so add a little nitrous to that and watch out V8's. IT all sounded pretty interesting to me, im from a small town in ontario called sarnia, and if i did this swap i know id have the best and most original accord out of all the guys here. So i was just wondring if you had goten anymore information about these amazing engines, you think its called an H20a or an H20b or something like that, it sounds like something ive heard before, anf the funy thing is, apparently the type R engine is actually a 2 litre, as opposed to a 2.2 or a 2.3 or a 2.4 or anything like that, so please let me know if you get this message or if you get anymore info. my email address is pjvandenbroek@cogeco.ca, and my name is jason:bandit:

i believe wags is right about that. and as far as 4th gen. they have f22a's, not f22b. those are in the 5th gens.
