Look at what a DR. charges. I would go the repair shop. But what was the labor time? Go price the parts and find out how many hrs they figure for it. At a dealer you may be paying - or + 100$ hr labor Independent repair shop may be a little cheaper labor rate. Or you can always save the labor and DIY it. MT ZL1power69 06-01-2006, 10:39 AM it might be cheaper to buy a new window motor elsewear but have the repair shop install it for you. heres a new motor on ebay for 12 bucks; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/S10-Truck-S-10-BLAZER-Jimmy-POWER-WINDOW-MOTOR-chevy_W0QQitemZ8069673740QQihZ019QQcategoryZ33706Q QrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem LS19962DRBLAZER4X4 06-01-2006, 11:12 AM I went to a NAPTA Auto Parts store and they told me that it would be $135.00 minus $25.00 dollars for the core when you return it. The dealership would charge $500.00 dollars at $85.00 dollars and hour plus expenses, that just to take out the old replacement and install the new one. My garage mechanic said he would do it for $225.00 If I could replace it myself if I knew how to, it would be the best of both worlds... Flat rate labor is around 1.6 hrs. Repair shop labor should not be over 2 hr at most. New OEM shows around 125$ US for new motor. Napa usually is a rebuilt motor. But a good rebuilt may be better who knows on stuff like that. Sometimes the new oem do not get a lot of mileage. As said E bay has good deals. Just check out the seller real good. If you want to do it yourself get some good repair info like a factory manual or a all data DIY sub. They should have some pictures and instructions and sometimes the replacement motor has a few instruction or pictures with it.. Some of them have pop rivets that will need drilled out and replaced or bolts installed in place of them. Just watch and keep your fingers and out of the road. Them things will eat up fingers and be sure to count all of them and make sure they are all still there when you get done. :grinno:   Here is a link to all data DIY. http://www.alldata.com/products/diy/index.html Good luck and let us know how it goes. MT OverBoardProject 06-01-2006, 01:12 PM A used motor costs me $30 - $40.00 here in Canada, so that e-bay price sounds like a good 1 The job isn't that hard, just drill out the rivits, and use short 1/4" bolts to replace them. Don't forget the lock washers Ultrashock 06-04-2006, 06:59 PM JC Whitney sells power window motors for about 33 dollars The ebay motor is only 12 but I always hesitate when its that inexpensive If you want to DIY this site is perfect http://www.a1electric.com/s10motor.htm I plan on replacing a power window motor as well as installing some new monroe sensa track shocks on my blazer this week MT-2500 06-04-2006, 07:18 PM JC Whitney sells power window motors for about 33 dollars The ebay motor is only 12 but I always hesitate when its that inexpensive If you want to DIY this site is perfect http://www.a1electric.com/s10motor.htm I plan on replacing a power window motor as well as installing some new monroe sensa track shocks on my blazer this week Ultrashock Good site and pictures and instructions.
