A/C Compressor Clutch

I'm working on a 98 Buick Century 3.1L. It's had a good deal of mechanical issues (the infamous intake gasket, etc, etc). I've got it running great at this point with the exception of the A/C.

When the AC control is switched to on inside the car the compressor clutch does not kick on. I'm unsure of whether the clutch itself is bad or the switch? I've never seen a control knob switch go bad like that but who knows! The owner (friend of mine) tells me it worked fine last year. The freon charge is good.

Is there an easy way to test what component is malfunctioning? If it is the clutch I'm somewhat sure it can be replaced...but not entirely. My local part vendors don't seem to have anything of the sort. Any ideas/comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Check the A/C relay.

sometimes the low pressure switch will go out not allowing the clutch to ingage. The low pressure switch is located on the accumulator. Unatatch switch get a wire run from one side of the switch to the other, if clutch ingages it is a bad low pressure switch.
