I am thinking swapping out the wife's 01 Honda Civic for a 96 Yukon (4dr 4x4). It will be an even trade, no money just trade cars and titles.

Basically what happened is the wife now drives the Audit TT that we picked up used and I have sold my old trusty SUV (92 4Runner with 287K) and want another SUV. Currently driving dad's 94 Crown Vic. Both are estimated about the same on Kelly's Blue Book.

Is it a good swap or should I just sell the Civic and shop around? The owner of the Yukon has only used Mobil 1 and never had any troubles. I trust him to take good care of it. I am mechanically savvy so I don't fear working on it, actually prefer to work on it myself.

Love my 97 but your gas consumption will increase. They are great trucks. I have owned a few.

157K is alot of miles for a american car where as the 101K honda is barelly broke in. THe honda will have a resale value higher that the GMC in the future as well. Besides now the KBB is maybe the same but the market is not. Big SUVS are a dime a dozen now since gas where small cars are worth more that KBB becuase of gas. I bought my Navi 5k under book at a DEALER!
If you sold your Honda you could get at least book prob more and you could prob find a newer Yukon for your money since gas prices.
