Radio Removalflipjr 05-26-2006, 12:39 PM Hello all, I am getting ready to get a new stereo for my 02 Ram quad and just doing my homework. If I understand it correctly the dash plate around the factory installed radio and AC/Heat panel just snaps off, and I mean snap an in suppose to not snap as in Break:banghead: I don't really want to have anything coming apart in peaces. Anyone who has done this before and has some helpful hints it is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, John imtheoneandonlyD 05-26-2006, 02:50 PM Just gently pull it off. It helps to put the truck in neutral so you can get it over the shifter...if its an auto that is. crazys182003 05-26-2006, 04:30 PM I found the easiest way in my 01 is to start on the left side of the steering column down near the bottom. I cna usually get my fingers in uder the dash and then slowly work my waya round. Yes you are correct it is just a snap on dash. It can be tight but don't worry after doing it a few times it gets easier. after you get your dash off you might need a socket set or a wrench I forgert the size though. My truck came from a used dealer with an aftermarket radio in it. xrtdx8 07-23-2006, 12:35 PM If its the new dash style then there is one screw above the little hanger thing on the lower right of the dash, once that is out the dahs just unclips. I can't remember if the piece around the radio comes out of the dash, its prolly easier just to take the entire front of the dash off vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
