Does anyone know what the stock wheel width is for a 96 Accord LX (US)? Back in December, we had some ice storms which, in combination with a bad decision to take an outer road instead of the highway, lead to me hitting the curb with the right front wheel "face", the side with the lugnuts. Needless to say, my alignment was pretty screwed up for a while, and when I got it fixed, the shop confirmed I'd need to replace that wheel. I've looked at some nice Motegi wheels (the mr7 & the rt5) that should fit the standard 185mm tire size, but I want to be sure that they'll fit, and that they'll also be as strong or stronger than my stock wheels. Maybe that's not possible, but any feedback would be appreciated.

If you have a coupe than your stock wheel size is 185/70-14.
If you have a sedan than your stock wheel size is 185/65-15.

Preference on tire is all up to you (sticky, not so sticky, all weather, summer, winter, etc.). Check around for different tires. Also you can check sites such as tirerack.com and that might help you with a decision.

Followup question: I'm shopping for new rims at tirerack.com, but for all the wheels I've looked at that would fit my vehicle, their site recommends a tire size of 195/60, just a little wider than the stock 185/65. If I get said wheels, would this be a problem with my current stock-size Michelins? Is there something else being factored in there? What gives? :1zhelp:

The 195/60-15 is probably the widest you can fit on the 15" rims. They're going by (IMO) wider tire, better traction, better for you. You could fit your stock 185/65 tires on there. There wouldn't be a problem. It's just like you could stick 195/60's on your stock rims. Totally preference on tire width.
