Hello! I've just received an unusual gift of Renault Laguna 2.0 1997. Previous owner started to have problems with immobiliser during driving - he decided to sell it as spares or repair - he had enough... My friend bought it of him, he thought it will be an easy job - key reprogramming. After trying to find someone to fix it he gave up as well, and wanted to get rid of a problem - he gave the car to me. Here I am, with a dead Renault Laguna...
Car's trying to start, keyfob opens the doors, but when I turn the key to ignition the LED that suppose to blink and turn off blinks all the time. After reading other posts I went straight to Renault to get the code, I've got the code now, any tips before I start? If the light keep blinking with key in what can it be? Not recognized? And if so, which part of programming procedure is true? Pressing small switch for doorlock inside for number of flashes, or pressing it and knocking clutch pedal number of times? BTW: in Renault service point they told me that it's better to have it completely disconnected, so I guess the problem persists and it's quite common. Any ideas how to do it? I really like this car, although I've never drove it yet, so I'd like to keep it... Thanks!

Update: The car has normally started after entering the immobiliser code sequence. I've even managed to program the key, it unlocked the doors and disarmed the immobiliser couple of times I've tried it! Problem is, that after some time when I get back to the car I had to start the whole thing again... Any ideas what might be wrong with it? At least I'm able to drive it now...

Is there any chance to fix it on my own? That garage is in far north, and I'm in South Wales... I don't want to send off the module, as if it'll be lost in post, I'm doomed... Another thing is, I cannot properly complete the key programming procedure, so I think that's where the problem lays, maybe I'm reprogramming it wrong?

The immobiliser on lagunas automatically arms itself after a short time, so you have to lock and unlock the car with the remote usually every time you need to start it
