The maintenance indicator is just another way of telling me that the car needs an oil change, right? Nothing more???

:D

Check the manual on your car, I remember reading in my manual about what the 'maintenance required' indicator means. It is set to alert you when certain preprogrammed mechanical things need attention (I'm not sure as to whether that includes oil changes). Once the service is done (whatever it is depends on the car's current mileage) the mechanic is supposed to reset the indicator.

it indicates when you need an oil change performed on the car. youll start to see the mpg decrease if not changed when the light changes than regular inspection on how parts look. hoses, plugs, plug wires, etc.:bandit:
