door handle shaving?teck 07-24-2002, 01:20 AM ok im currently working on shaving my door handles. i went to a local welding places but the guy told me that my doors will warp a little because of the heat. he will charge me $20 bucks per door. i want to shave my trunk but i dont know if you use cheet metal on that too. i know dumb question. but hey its becuase of dumb questions people do the corretc thing. please help me out guys colechaney 07-24-2002, 01:30 AM I'm not sure what your guy is using, but I know theres some special welder that uses argon gas and it doesn't warp it. It like bonds the metal instantly cuz its so hot. There was some thread about it on here so I don't know how accurate the information is. If I remember correctly someone said that it would cost more that that per door, but that was with the poppers installed. If I were you I would go to about every shop I could find, and ask to see some similar work they did. Good luck. kicker1_solo 07-24-2002, 07:38 PM all I can say is if he'll do it for $20 a door, GO FOR IT. That's an amazing deal, don't let it go. Most places charge at least $250 per door or more.
