Hello,
I have been battling many problems with a 1990 Ford E150 van. I had the tranny rebuilt b/c it hung up in 1st gear (transmission shop to me I needed this). After it was rebuilt, it still did it. It wound up being the computer, so 1500 dollars later I have finally found the problem. The computer had a bad contact (one of the pins was broken off). The transmission shop finally found this problem after the rebuild. The told me that the computer was no longer available from Ford, so I went to a salvage yard to try and find another. They found me one (about 2 weeks ago) and I paid for it. I was happy with the 100 dollar price they charged me, but the first that arrived was the wrong computer and the second that arrived had the same problem as my original computer: A broken pin (just so happened to be the exact pin that was broken on mine). Was there a problem with that on this model van? If so, is there a better computer I can use that doesn't have this problem i.e. crossreference a computer from a newer e150 250 350 or f150 250 350 that will work in my 1990 ford van. Mine has a 351 efi with the e4od tranny. Here are the numbers from the computer if anyone has any idea on this:

Thanks for any input!!!!!!!!

Found a computer on ebay for a 1996 e150 van w/a 5.8 efi. Does anyone know if it would work in my 1990 w/the 5.8 efi and e4od tranny? Thanks!
