Went to the track yesterday....Ricefighter 05-14-2006, 11:06 AM ...for the first time in my 01 ext. cab short bed 5.3. All stock except for a B&M shift kit and vette servo. about 90-95 degrees out, full tank of 87. 1st run... R/T: .398 1: 2.434 2: 6.755 3: 10.317 mph: 69.584 4: 13.367 ET: 16.014 MPH: 85.172 2nd run R/T: .336 1: 2.410 2: 6.730 3: 10.293 mph: 69.798 4: .000(error) ET: 15.996 MPH: 85.091 3rd run R/T: .234 1: 2.368 2: 6.681 3: 10.246 mph: 69.760 4: .000 ET: 15.948 MPH: 85.137 The rest I made in my friends cobra. Is this about average? I need to get a new converter, b/c those 60fts are just terrible. It's such a dog to get moving. I was leaving on the yellow and it was still cutting .3's (some track measure differently...this track goes .000 if you cut it perfect. it was a 500 tree, so some tracks mine would be a .8!!) I can definetley pull a 15.8 with a few more passes. jethro_3 05-14-2006, 03:56 PM Is that 1/8 or 1/4???? I don't understand what 1: 2: 3: and 4: times are, I am used to seeing 60ft, 330, 1000 1/4 etc. Fill me in please.....:1zhelp: Ricefighter 05-14-2006, 05:15 PM 60 330 1/8 1/8 mph 1000 1/4 1/4 mph Slowprocess 05-15-2006, 09:13 AM That's pretty much what that truck should be running. We just put an ext cab 5.3L in the 14s with Pacesetter LTs, wait4me tune, k&n fipk, cutout, and 4.11s. We ran a 13.8 with it on a 75 shot of gas as well. TaNK_Em 05-15-2006, 10:05 AM Got some good numbers there, I went to a drag not to long ago some newer Chevy’s there, pretty quickly for mostly stock. - Kevin 97sle 05-15-2006, 10:53 AM I've never raced my truck on a track before but I was wondering what you think my truck would run in a 1/4 mile. I have a 97 Sierra, RCSB, 350. K&N Intake, True dual flowmaster exhaust. carelessthunder 05-17-2006, 12:11 PM Allright I don't feel so bad now. I went to the track myself. bone stock 06 LT1 ext. cab 5.3. I was dissappointed about my reactions. .8 was like my best. I had some 1 sec. in there 2. Ran it 4 times I ran 16.1 steady. So much different running trucks than my RX8 that I used to run. I was talking to a guy off of dragtimes.com same truck as mine. supposely he is getting 15.1 I guess he is subtracting his R/T???????? Surely that would explain the slow reaction times. I would listen to about 3% of the people on that site. Most of them will lie their asses off anyway. carelessthunder 05-18-2006, 02:54 PM Know I did it the same way I did in my RX8 which was a mistake. I would go on the 3 yellow. In the truck I guess I have to go just before the 3rd. I just couldn't make myself do that. I hate to redlight it. I might go back today maybe 97sle 05-19-2006, 10:33 AM OK, I havn't got to the track but the other day I raced my friend so I would know close to what my truck would run. He has a 98 Firebird V6 that has some work done, he has time slips from when he went to the track and he ran consistent 15.2 and when we raced I was atleast a car ahead of him. We raced 3 different times and samething always happened, I would take off by the end of 2nd gear and then I couldn't pull anymore away from him and he couldn't pull any on me. So I would guess my truck runs anywhere from 15.1-15.2 and my truck is 97 Sierra, 350 Vortec, RCSB. All that is done to it is, Flowmaster cat-back system, and K&N intake. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
