AC question

ok so my GP has that stupid dual climate that i know everyone hates including me, driver side is warmer then passenger blah blah blah. i was told its probably the "doors" that close off the heat to make the air cold or something? i've had a new ac system installed (evaporator core, control unit, hoses, recharge and i know the compressor is good still) is it easy to get to these so called doors or should i jus leave it to an expert? if so would anyone happen to have pics or anything simmilar to what the vacume doors/flaps look like and how theres an easy fix? any help would be great, thanks! p.s. i was told that the dash would have to come out to do this though but i just wanted to make sure.

I've seen a combination of low refrigerant charge and the temperature actuators cause the problem.

The doors and actuators are not easy to get to because they are located in the evaporator/heater core housing and it will require disassembly. Plus with the dual digital climate control there are two actuators, one for the passenger side and the other for driver's.

Basically this is how it works. From the blower motor air flow passes through the evaporator core and the heater core through channels. Based on HVAC settings the temperature actuator moves a door. The positions vary from warm to mild to cold. For cold air the actuators goes to the cold position which is a closed position where hot air is blocked off and only cold air from the evaporator gets to the vents. When the actuator malfunctions it may not command the full close position for cold air and therefore warm air from the heater core is being mixed with it.

yeah i figured thats what could be going on, i noticed that the passenger side is always working perfect, so it got me thinkin if maybe the previous owner had the passenger side parts replaced and are newer, and at that time the drivers side was still working fine.
