Wing HelpMugen_R 07-23-2002, 11:44 AM ok, my friend and I saw this one civic sedan which had a not bad looking wing, but I said that there's no point in putting a wing on a front wheel drive car. My frined then started to tell me how it is better for turning corners etc... I told him you would mainly put a wing on a RWD car so it puts down force on the rear wheels, but whats the point in putting a wing on a FWD car??? He said you need downforce for the rear too if it's a FWD car. I know I'm right and by adding a HUGE wing, it will increase your 1/4 time and possibly add an extra 30HP to the ground, lol  MSilage 07-23-2002, 01:22 PM just for looks....he'd be better off mounting the wing on his hood 95civicman 07-24-2002, 01:00 AM i am by no means a fan of the universal wing but think about this logically. if you are a serious auto-x'er then a wing wouldn't be a bad thing because lets say you have a civic and you want to make it into a auto-x or track car. you buy suspension, strut bars, a good front lip to put downforce on the front, but what tends to happen when you turn into a corner real fast? you back end slides out. so to help this you would buy a wing to put some downforce on the back so it won't slide out as easy. but yes it mostly for looks. Mugen_R 07-24-2002, 11:53 AM but here's the thing, his civic won't be a track car EVER so there's basically no point in wasting so much money. but if you see a done up civic sedan with a wing, customized interior, you know that this guy is forsure not a track car racer. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
