Please help me find a left motor mount (transmission) 1995 Dodge Neon standardwnt2rd 05-12-2006, 10:15 PM My clutch cable broke and a few pieces of the cable fell into the bell housing and made an awful racket so I decided to replace the clutch because the car has near 90k miles on it. All that's over and done with, but I found a broken left (transmission) motor mount. I removed the entire mount from the car, bought a $20 insert to replace the broken one, but have given up trying to remove the broken insert from the engine mount housing. I just can't get it out! I've tried everything. People tell me that they just buy a completely new mount in this situation, but I can't find any online retailers and local parts stores tell me that they can't help me <img>. Does anyone know of an online parts retailer that would have this part? Or perhaps, any other way I can get one? wnt2rd 05-12-2006, 10:45 PM Woops! In all my frustration I didn't even think to call the Dodge dealer. They're trying to "locate" the part for me and will call me back. I know you are all very excited to hear the outcome so I'll be sure to let you know what happens. FemaleRacer 05-26-2006, 05:30 AM Woops! I had a hard time matching a specific mount once so I called the dealership and get the specific measurement of it. I then called around to hardwares stores and found what i needed. Worked great! skatendestroy 05-31-2006, 03:32 PM you can also jsut fill the motor mount with hot glue..... Its a quick fix and will be allitle stiffer FemaleRacer 05-31-2006, 06:57 PM you can also jsut fill the motor mount with hot glue..... Its a quick fix and will be allitle stiffer That is so smart. What a great idea! wnt2rd 06-03-2006, 03:58 AM The motor mount was only part of the problem. I'm replacing the clutch and clutch cable so I had to take the transmission out of the car. I can't get the transmission back in! I got the mount from Dodge and tried to reinstall my transmission, but the thing just won't go in (insert prom night joke here.) I used a motorcycle jack to lift the transmission up. I got it level with the engine/clutch. I slowly pushed the jack forward just like the Haynes manual says, but it just wouldn't go in. I can't figure out what the transmission is getting stuck on. I rotated the splines on the input shaft several times and the clutch is aligned perfectly. I checked all the clearences and they all look OK. Oh well. I think I'll hire a mobile mechanic to put the transmission in because my back is really sore from manipulating the transmission over and over for three hours. I bet a mechanic could do it in 10 minutes. Here's a pic of my baby in the driveway: http://home.hawaii.rr.com/wnt2rd/img/05trans.jpg For those wondering what color adorns this radmobile, I like to call it "tourist red." skatendestroy 06-06-2006, 03:39 PM is that a 95 base model? das2123 06-06-2006, 04:02 PM is that a 95 base model?Grey bumpers with no fogs...I'd say yes! wnt2rd 06-06-2006, 06:17 PM Yup, it's a base model. I refuse to let it die. It has done such a good job until the clutch cable broke. skatendestroy 06-07-2006, 09:46 PM I love my base model other then the fact that some one acctually replaced the manual with an automatic.....before I got it o well that will soon change once I get my tranny swap done. I just wasnt able to tell really cause the side door molding had me fooled. das2123 06-07-2006, 11:45 PM I just wasnt able to tell really cause the side door molding had me fooled. The only neons to come w/o the molding were the ACR's. skatendestroy 06-09-2006, 11:07 PM wait mine doesnt have side moulding and i know its not an acr lol this is my 95 base model http://img102.imageshack.us/img102/3977/imag00116cr.jpg http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/6112/imag00081gk.jpg i put the spoiler on and i changed all the hubs over to a 5 star pattern becaused i was too cheap to get all new tires i just switched the hubs rims and brake overr gfrom my parts car :) lol das2123 06-09-2006, 11:29 PM ^^^Did you buy it brand new? If not, someone may have taken off the molding, and besides you don't have the fog light bumper minues the foglights. skatendestroy 06-09-2006, 11:33 PM I knew the person who bought it brand new she was my moms best friend and it was this way since it was bought i do know that it was a manual and she had it switched to an automatic though and now im gonna switch it back... o the irony wnt2rd 06-12-2006, 11:11 PM I think it's funny that the groove on the side of the car extends forward to the front fender, but stops at the end of the rear doors. das2123 06-13-2006, 09:32 AM ^^^ I never thought about that...good eye! wnt2rd 06-18-2006, 12:42 AM ^^^ I never thought about that...good eye! It's kind of like the engineers said, "Ahh, it's good enough like this! No one will notice." :naughty: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
