coolant in sprak plug holedcram 05-06-2006, 10:33 AM so on my girlfriends 98 cavalier (2.2) there is coolant bubbling up in one of the sparkplug holes, not too much but enough to see. Anyway, you guys had any experinece with this? Think it s the head gasket / cracked head? Thanks for the reply CavRacer 05-07-2006, 01:42 AM It is most likely the head gasket. Not sure fo the price of a new gasket but you'll have to pull the head and replace it. Do it yourself and it'll be relatively cheap. dcram 05-07-2006, 09:39 AM yeah i kinda figured that... i can do the work myself but i want to be sure that is what the problem is first before i start tearing it down. Thanks for the reply wafrederick 05-07-2006, 06:35 PM It is the head gasket.Take the head to machine shop to get checked for warpness. If it is warped, get it milled and do the job right the first time. The new head gasket will not seal very well with a warped head dcram 05-07-2006, 11:37 PM so its a definite on the head gasket being shot you think? thanks for the replies 4dr92cavi4cyl 05-09-2006, 02:19 PM When having it milled/serviced, have them check it for cracks too, just in case... And ALWAYS buy new head bolts. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
