Grinding noise when cold

I have a 97 GT. Ever since I put my intake on, when I start the car in the morning or after it's been sitting and the engine is cold, I hear almost like a grinding sound in the engine that you can hear quite well from the intake. After it warms up to normal operating temp. it goes away. Problem?? Or is this just something that is always there, but much more noticeable now that I have a straight intake on it?

The noise you are hearing is normal. It is the canister purge solenoid.

I've got the same noise on my 02' gt ever since I put on my Wizardair CAI

Ive tryed for weeks/months to get rid of this sound but i havent found it yet. if its the canister purge, can i block off its' vaccum or shut it off another way

P.S. no problems yet from this noise, just annoyance

FWI and CAI all have a slight groan until the car warms up. At least everyone I know of does...

Annoying for sure. Glad to know it's nothing out of the ordinary. As always, thanks all
