engine swap????

here is my predicament i have a immaculate 94 gpse with a dying engine what can i swap in there besides the same engine it feels like a waste to throw away such a nice looking car...

i might regret to say this but im thinking of swapping in a eclipse engine in there will it work?? i know it will take intensive modification but is there a more sensible swap??

You have a 3.8, 3.4, 3.1 all options. Be careful swapping out engines from different manufacturers, you will have more work than you think. Even after you get everything in there and mounted right you will run into one very major issue. What are you going to use for axles? The gm ones won't work with the trans, and the eclipse ones won't work with the hubs. Not to mention the entire lengths will be off. You will need custom axles made, if you don't know someone you will spend more on the axles than on the entire engine swap. That is if you can even find someone willing to do it. You will need exact measurements to even get someone to talk to you about them. I have a buddy here who has a reman shop here and even making them for the riceburners putting the acura vtec engines in their cars. He gets for some close to 500.00 an axle, that is with no warranty other then he will guarantee fit. You will also need a new wiring harness along with the usual mods done with a swap.

I've got a major problem with my engine right now and if it turns out to be a cracked block or head I'm probably going to end up spending the extra cash and time to drop in a 3.8L.

thanks for the info the problem that i have with my engine is that i burn oil as quick i burn my paycheck and thats very quick and its tired (150k) and madmunky you have the exact same car as i do cept the 3.4 DOHC thing....

well ive done some soul serching and decided that i am gonna swap in the L67 does anybody know and reputable dealers where i can get a front clip i googled it and i couldnt find anything
