Buy a Dodge Ram with a Cumins Diesel. The most reliable would be the 5-speed, although the Automatic is good and can be made excellent with aftermarket parts. The truck may eventually fall apart but the engine will still be running (opposite experience with Ford, truck OK, engine falls apart [cavitation errosion a big problem, total loss of engine]).

That's the ticket...go Dodge Cummins.
