I just got my throttle body cleaned by my friend a couple weeks ago and u can tell a difference from it. Now since i got it cleaned, it seems like my gas mileage sucks bad. Ill drive around for a total of an hour and it goes through a 1/4 tank. Whats going on?

It sounds like he may have mucked up the MAF sensor, or something he knocked loose found another home. Any CEL?.

He didnt take the MAF Sensor off. But he did take a tooth brush and cleanded out where the hole is for the MAF. Can he take off the MAF Sensor? He told me he couldnt because the screws that hold the sensor in have little posts in the center of each screw. I really need to get this fixed because gas is way to freakin high. Id like to line up every oil company execs and kick em in the nuts. :iceslolan

They make a tool for those tamper proof torx screws, and if he didn't take the MAF off, that's your problem. DO NOT use carb cleaner on a MAF, you need electronic parts cleaner to do it. If you use carb cleaner on the MAF elements, it's toast, and you're looking at a $160 or so to replace it.

No he used STP throttle body cleaner. To clean the MAF sensor all i gotta do is take the 4 screws out and take it off without removing the throttle body? If the screws are on there tight should i attempt to take it off?

The MAF is removeable without taking off the throttle body, and the screws normally come right out. I've never had a problem getting them loose.

CRC and Cyclo both make it, and it's available at just about any Auto parts store or hardware. Should run about $4 or so a can, maybe cheaper.

Now just one more question. Whats the best way to clean it? Can i directly spray it and clean it with a toothbrush?

Just spray the hot wires element located in the plastic tube with the cleaner and let it dry. I would not use a toothbrush or you may damage the hot wire components.

So all i gotta do is spray inside the tube let it run out and let it air dry?

Thats correct.

Also, when the throttle body was cleaned was the IAC valve removed for cleaning? Even if the TB bore and throttle plate is cleaned it is a good idea to remove the IAC and clean it (spring loaded pintle) separately with carb or throttle body spray cleaner. Also, get the seat where it mounts to the throttle body. Normally there is a lot of soft carbon in that area. Good luck!
