Just swapped my front brake pads with these beauties.

Come with stainless steel shims, high temp grease to coat the shims and the caliper pins and the build quality is great.

Easy install and took 10 minutes per wheel.

Stopping power greatly improved and they are perfectly silent.

Very low dust too.

Good to hear! Has anyone every had a tough time installing the bads on they're Blazers? I had a bitch of a time with the backs. I ended up having to grind a little bit off of the seating surfaces.

I didn't have any problems with the installation of the pads, or the rebuilding of the calipers. However, the rear rotors were so rusted up that I had a hell of a time breaking them free for replacement. I had to beat the heck out of them just to get them to break free.

Did you make sure the calipur was pushed all the way back?

Was that for me LT? My problem was with the installation in the brackets. Tried 2 different brands with the same result. Seems anlost like someone swaped them from a diff vehicle at some time. They work great - we'll see how they hold up in the long run.

Yea, it was directed towards you.

A lot of the fitment problems could be from a caliper that just needs to be pushed backa in a bit more.

Nothing to do with the caliper... I'm talking about the holderr that the pads slide into.

Had the same problem and was a stuck slide pin in the rear. Bought a new mounting bracket and pins, greased and all fixed. All 4 of my 98up have had rebuilt rear calipers due to the single plastic piston distorting. As for the brackets, found buying "loaded" brakes inckuded the bracket, pins, caliper, and pads much cheaper than buying separtely.

This is kinda off your topic but reading your thread brought it to mind. I rear calipers are sticking. I know that they wouldn't be that hard to replace as I have changed by brakes many times until I put bendix pads on. My question is.... are worth rebuilding or buying new. If bought new what would be the best brand at a resonable price.

You can buy rebuilt calipers for $20 or so and are perfectly fine.

You don't have to buy new.

AZ sells the drivers rear for $62 and the passenger for $34. This is for a 98 4wd. Can you guess which one is the better seller??

The difference in price is for the emergency brake I believe.

The difference in price is for the emergency brake I believe.

Ebrake is internal - in the disc. I think the driver's side burns up more and therefore is higher priced.

I bought all four of my calipers at Advance Auto. The two fronts were $55 each and the two rears were $40 each.

How much were the Monroe pads?

How much were the Monroe pads?

They were CDN$44.99 (US$40.27) on sale down from CDN$59.99 (US$54). The kit included 4 pads, an instruction sheet, some high temp moly grease to grease the stainless shims and pins, and the warranty card.

They come with a 3 year guarantee and if you got them installed at the store, they were lifetime. I passed on the install seeing they wanted $115 to install them.

It is worth the extra money, the braking is silent and actually much more responsive than even when the old pads were new. I think they were Raybestos and they were dusting like crazy. Cheap crap.

Since the install I have put over 300 miles on the truck without a singhle hint of dust anywhere and my 18s are thanking me for that.

Nothing like cleaning your wheels and 20 miles later having them covered with a fine layer of brake dust.

Well worth the investment.
