Funny thing is i just got done doing this in my 03 galant. First off you need to totally remove the 3rd brake light. Remove the 2 nuts from the underside(in the trunk) of the housing and take out the light bulb then slide and lift it out from the inside. Then you have to pry off most of the rear side panels cause the bottm of the panels go through a slit in the rear deck that holds it in place. If yout putting in aftermarket speakers you may want to go to a car audio retailer and pick up a set of wires that use your oem speaker connection to connect aftermarket speakers. The OEM speakers have wire leads on top of the speaker instead of the underside like most speakers. I had to totally rerun the speaker wires to get my aftermarket ones to work. I can take some pics if you need them.
