It didn't look that deepgeorgewthedog 04-26-2006, 12:28 AM So, the other day my friends and I were offroading and .. yea long story short this is the end result: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y137/GeorgeWtheDog/Picture_015.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y137/GeorgeWtheDog/Picture003.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y137/GeorgeWtheDog/Picture_023.jpg broke the tow hitch so after that had to dig in the mud and tie the chain off on the rear axle. I was waiting to see the car stay there and the rear end of my car come flying out of the mud. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y137/GeorgeWtheDog/Picture_028.jpg Me trying to get a towstrap hooked on the tow hitch (the tow strap snapped after this) http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y137/GeorgeWtheDog/Picture010.jpg crazy thing is, fucker started right up when i got it out of the water and i drove it home; i changed the oil and the suspension isn't so happy anymore but for sitting in the water for 4 days, i don't think it turned out so bad (it took 4 days for us to get some trucks back there because the trails weren't big enough for the trucks to fit up--we had to take down some trees eventually to get them up.) fredjacksonsan 04-26-2006, 11:23 AM Wow. I'm laughing because I have been stuck in a hole that "didn't look that deep". Sounds like fun, glad it's still running! You may want to consider changing the trans and transfer case fluids also. dksob81 04-26-2006, 05:19 PM lol, from the first pic, it look sjust like the place i got my jeep stuck (somewhere in masury/hubbard Ohio) and mine is the same color so I thought it was my pics...lol, I will try to find the pics and post them..... legalfee 04-27-2006, 11:36 AM Wow pretty wild. Your Jeep looks almost like mine: 96 GCL Rosewood with gold package. Only different I can see mine has foglights built into the bumper and I have towing package with built in hitch and taillight connector. SJ Ron68 04-30-2006, 11:49 AM DEJA VU! My son had a green 94 and your pics look almost identical to mine, although his was even deeper in the water. Had to tow him home as trans would not work. Ended up: 1. Steam cleaned engine and rest of car. 2. Changed oil and filter. Ran engine. Changed again. 3. Removed radiator shroud and radiator - cleaned - blocked with mud. 4. Dropped pan on trans - full of mud, filter completely clogged with mud. Changed filter, cleaned pan, refilled. Unhooked cooler input line. Started engine and kept adding and draining fluid until it finally ran clear. 5. Removed interior and pressure washed and cleaned mud off of everything and everywhere. Even inside lower part of front doors. 6. Kicked son's ass - hard. But Dad - it didn't look that deep..... Once clean and dry - you could never tell it had "taken a dive" and it was still running well when he sold it....... Mossichow 05-20-2006, 03:17 PM Same here! I went Mudding at around 4:30. The Hill i went down was like at a 45 degree angle, and had potholes in it. So i went down got to the flat part and saw a *1 Foot puddle* which turned out to be 3-3 1/2 feet deep. Then we called my bud out and he pulled me out. 5:15 .But at this time it had started RAINING! SHIIIIIIII! So he went first back up the Now slippery 45 degree hill and went into a pothole bout 2 feet deep, and bottomed out. so weh called my friends uncle. 6:00. By this time we had about 15- 20 people out there. So we rocked him out of the hole and HE HAD A FLAT! OK now this trail was only 1 suv width wide and remember that the truck was in front of my friends Land rover with the flat. So dude got in his truck and 4X4 WOULD'NT ENGAGE!!!! 7:00. By that time 20 people out there. (I was feelin real bad because at first it was me and my friend and his cousin, and i had made everybody come out there and help me.) So we called my sisters friends dad and he brought his truck pulled the truck up the hill and then the guy with the flat made it all the way up. 8:00. Then its my turn. I GET SO BUCK REVIN AND CHECKIN EVERYTHING! 4x4 LOW florring it and dodging every pothole and got al the way up there. NEVER GOIN BACK! hulkmn069 05-20-2006, 07:13 PM is that wellsville? that place is notorious for holes that "didn't look that deep" hell it's hard to get around on a dirtbike there mx52nv 05-22-2006, 05:56 PM bald tires+big mud hole+no sense to check the depth=a bad day there is a reason why my Jeep says "Idiot Recovery Vehicle" on the back.... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
