Hey all I brought my 98 Grand 4.0 I6 in for an alingment a few days back.
i was in the waiting room with my 2year old daughter when i heard a car alarm go off sounded like mine so i just grinned and waited for then to turn it off.
well 3 minutes go by and mechanics are standing around my key fob wondering wich buttons out of the 3 turns its off.so i guess its up too me to save day so i snatch up my girl and walk around the bay door and automaticly the tech walks up and hands me my keys with a bewildered look on his face.
it kind of threw me off so im like weirded out these guys cant turn it off so i hit the unlock button that doesnt work so i hit the lock button and still nothing the whole time i knew the tech hit the panic button so i pressed it and off goes the alarm the techs are like phew thanx that was annoying.
the tech ask me if it was an automatic alarm i said yes it kind of a pain in the ass sometimes and then walked back too the waiting room to wait on the alignment wich wasnt completed but thats another post.
anyhow long story short my alarm is no longer working since that day, did the tech turn it off somehow(how???) did a combo of key fob buttons disable it???
sorry for the long winded post any thoughts greatly appreciated

If it's after market they probably turned on the valet switch.
If Factory check to make sure they didn't remove the relay and or fuse.

If it's factory it doesn't have a valet switch.
Factory alarms are usually beeping horns and flashing lights after market is a siren.
After market is usually a small micro button mounted on or near the steering column under the dash or near the kick panel on drivers side.
