Where is the ignition module on a 98 Taurus with the Vulcan motor? My dad has been experiencing what seems to be an ignition problem, kicking and bucking and whatnot so I was thinking maybe the ignition module. Or could the coil packs be at fault?

They haven't used true ignition modules in 15-20 years. The PCM has replaced the ignition module. As far as the ignition coils they are located near the rear of the left-hand cylinder.
