The GT and GTP short blocks are the same but that is where the similarities end. The GTP-L67 engine has different heads and a lower compression ratio than the L-36 engine. To do this installation you need a new fuel pump, transmission, axle shafts, wiring harness, PCM, supercharger, fuel rail and fuel injectors from the supercharged engine. You would also need the pulley set up from the supercharged engine. It is complicated and can be expensive. You would be better off putting a turbo on the car.

The tranny currently in the car will not hold up to the extra horsepower of the supercharger. Although you can do the change over and use the tranny you have until you destroy it and then put a heavy duty tranny in the car.

The engines should be the same although the PCM's from the early 97's will not interchange with the later models. There are some vacuum ports on the 97 supercharger that are not on the newer models either but that shouldn't be an issue.
