Code 27 on late 1992 with 318 and MFI

Hi,
I'm still showing a code 27 and this make my van nearly undriveable.
Do any of you Dodge guys out there have any ideas on how I would go about finding what's causing this code 27 problem. This van is a late 1992 with Multi Port FI and has 120,000 on it. It had the computer and several sensors replaced last year and ran pretty good untill now. It had a code 52 a number of times in the past but not now. I really don't want to take it to the dealer because the last time they worked on it I had the feeling they were just guessing and replacing parts ( three tries and $1200.00) Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also I think it would be real helpful if we all made a point of posting a followup message after problems are solved. Thanks

ok well um it seems your van is different than mine after all.

I cant really say which to do other than parts replacement.

This suggests a faulty fuel injector. I cant say what the circuit 1 is, I think that means that it is still one circuit covering each side of the vehicle.

whether that error could come up with 1 injector being bad or only to the actual circuit sending them information I cant say.

here is a source for possible injector jet replacement www.injectors4u.com/tbi_injectors.htm (http://www.injectors4u.com/tbi_injectors.htm)

but if its all 4 not working logic suggests its electrical or the injector rail. injector pump even. I can recall a volvo I helped fix once that had a ecu just for the injectors, seperate and different from the other ecu

Is your vehicle running on only 4 cylinders you think?

Im trying to think of a diagnosis to help without taking it apart yet. Maybe pull off the spark plug wires on one side one at a time and see if there is a difference for that cylinder or for that side

Thanks for the info. I made some of the checks you suggest. I do think my van is running on all cylinders. It seems to be running very rich and has lost a lot of it's power. Actually it runs the way an older car with a carburetor runs when the choke is not opening. Thank you in advance for any other help.

heh well I havent really helped much

what have they replaced so far that didnt solve the problem?

I mean actually from here you need to buy a fuel pressure gauge and attach it to the test port before you can really start.

I think a bad fuel pump can do this.
This error code does say check computer and connections so eventually you may have to first eyeball the connections starting from injector 1( figuring out which side that is as well lol) and leafing back to the ecu

I havent looked at a picture of the fuel system of your engine but i think its in my chilton manual. Ok so theres 2 rails each with 4 injectors right? I mean thats what is standard. So what is the electrical connection to that rail. There must be a fuel injector circuit 1, and circuit 2. Where are those, lets get a picture of that first. 4 injectors on a rail have to all meet somewhere tell me that first.

Ok heres some logic though, its giving an error code that appears to me to be refering to one side of the engine and youre claiming both sides are running poorly right?

I mean this can happen sure I just want to give some thought to the wording of the code first

also reset the codes again and make sure this 27 comes back

also describe better your driveability problems
does it go away at all when it warms up? Is it hard starting?

Thanks, I'll get a pressure guage and I'll make a list of parts I have replaced.
