HI,
I AM WONDERING IF ANYONE OUT THERE KNOWS WHY THIS 1989 PONATIC GRAND PRIX DRIVERS DOOR IS NOT OPENING EASILY????????
WHEN YOU UNLOCK IT AND PULL THE HANDLE TO OPEN THE DOOR YOU HAVE TO SNAP THE HANDLE QUICKLY AND RATHER HARD.
SOME TIMES YOU HAVE TO TRY 2 OR 3 TIMES TO FINALY GET THE DOOR TO OPEN....
THE PASANGERS DOOR OPENS PERFECT.

I DO NOT KNOW IF ANYONE HAS SEEN THIS BEFORE IN GRAND PRIX OR OTHER CARS??????

I WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE AND HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM....
PLEASE HELP THANKS.............:feedback:

Very common problem on those cars. The rod that goes from the handle to the latch itself has bent slightly, and isn't pushing the release lever dodwn far enough. If you take the inner door pad off, you can remove the rod, bend it back and you should be good to go.

Amd another thing becareful on those handles. I have been through at least 5 of them. They are $75 each. You get the whole assembly. I bought a junk car for the handle!!
