I was just wondering is there anyone else getting excited about the upcoming SRT-4 as I am..and how many people are seriously looking forward to purchasing one??

Right now I couldn't afford one, but I am more than excited that Chrysler is bringing back the turbo cars, the RWD platform, and the Hemi. I will own one at one point. That Neon is going to be one serious car.

i was thinkin about it but i'm not too sure if i do it will be a "toy" car, put some of these ricers in there place (no offense) how much is it going to go for? i don't remember if i had seen n e thing on the price or not

The Razor will be about $14,000, the SRT - 4 Neon will be around $20,000, and the SRT - 10 Ram will be about $28-30,000.

where did u hear/get the price on the SRT-10 or is it an estimate? (let alone the others)

The SRT-10 Ram will cost so much more than $30K. I know it's gotta compete with the Lightning, but it'll have to be at least 40k.

This is what dealers are telling me and it is what Chrysler has been telling big magazines, but still even at $40,000 you are getting a Viper in truck form. It will eat the Lightning for breakfast.

A truck with that kind of power would be a real bear to handle. The ass end would be all over the place at the smallest push of the gas. Yikes! I guess they've had that V10 beast available for the Ram for some time, but I don't know anyone who actually owns one.

I would say it handles pretty well being it can do the slalom at 69 MPH.

i won't be getting the srt4, but i will get the razor if/when it comes out...

No matter how much they hype the SRT-4, it is still a Neon. And Neons are not the greatest cars IMO.

Its like every 10 years Chrysler corp. puts out a killer turbo 4. In 91 it was the Spirit R/T(Which I'm getting one soon) and now we have the SRT-4. And yeah its a neon but its a neon that kick the trash out of most things on the road including camaros and stangs.

Why do people insist on making such assinine statements?

The SRT-4 and the SRT-10 are great cars that will complete Dodge's line of Cars.

The SRT-4 is quick, but it sure as hell wont be kicking garbage out of camaros or mustangs, at least not the V8 versions.

Don't be so damn sure. Stock it is nipping at their heels. They already have upgrade turbo kits from Dodge for them. You can make one kill a Mustang or Camero pretty easy. They have one running in the 9's or 8's I believe in the quarter.

i test drove a pt turbo which has the engine it had a 5 spd not the autostick and i must say i was impressed:D but there was a small case of turbo lag. as a proud owner of a daytona shelby turbo and a omni glhs i must say i will have an srt-4

I am defenitely going to get one, just waiting for it to show up in minnesota, by the way does anyone know when that might happen??

Sadly enough, the SRT4 is only going to be sold in Florida and Cali for the 2003 model year. You can always order one or travel out of state to get one though. That would be a long trip from Minn. though.

As far as the engine goes. It is a bigger engine, so I can guarantee you that the motor mounts are in different places. You might have to make other modifications to fit everything in. Also, your stock tranny will have to go if y6ou plan to do a swap.

As for the 2004 model year. I don’t honestly know, but they better. I want to test dr3ive one. I might buy one if I can get it in a color I like and if they sell them here in Utah.

I asked the dealer if it would be sold more places next year. He said he wasn't sure. He said it would probably depend on sales for this year.

You are way off on the SRT-10 ram. Plan on it being close to $45-50k (like the Ford Lightning). The Viper crate engine alone goes for $17k (then add on the differential, brake, interior and instrumentation).

I had no idea the Lightning cost that much!!

I agree in that case. I really feel that it will be priced around the Lightining. Still a better value for speed anyhow.

I have seen some estimates on the SRT-10 from 40-52k, 30 is way too low since the new hemi magnum is a solid 32 without a lot of options. Either way the SRT-10 will dominate all.
